Don’t be surprised to find that your future PC version ofAlpha Protocolis protected by DRM. Just don’t ask us what that DRM is. Speaking withEurogamerSEGA confirmed that the game would be protected and specified that a company named Uniloc will be doing the protecting. But what that translates to in terms of hassle or even security is beyond us: thecompany’s Web siteis vague about its game-side solutions.
If it makes you feel better, Uniloc believes its “SoftAnchor” solution is hassle-free. “SoftAnchor manages copy protection and digital rights ‘politely’ and unobtrusively,” the Web site reads, “without compromising your legal users’ productivity and activation experience.”
