Jersey Shore: The World Warriors

December is usually a boring time for television — all the regular shows go on holiday break, and there’s nothing to watch except reruns and lame Christmas specials. This year, however, MTV has given us a wonderful present in the form ofJersey Shore. If you haven’t watched, they’ve found the most awful people on earth and put them into a house, and we get to witness all the amazing/awful things that happen to them — like when a guy gets pink eye after a fat chick sits on his face....

Kick ass abilities: just another reason why you should care about Haze

With a seemingly endless amount of high-profile games coming out in the next few months, it’s easy to lose track of every single last title that looked good to you at one point in time or another. There’s a chance that you might have overlookedFree Radical Design’s (TimeSplittersseries,Second Sight) upcoming first-person shooter for PlayStation 3,Haze. The focus onHazethus far has been more about the game’s narrative and less about actual gameplay....

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning hits February 7

It looks like Todd MacFarlanewas right:Kindgoms of Amalur: Reckoningis launching next February. The date in North America is February 7, to be exact, with a European release of February 10. The open-world action role-playing game may look like something you’ve seen before, but that’s a bit deceiving. Its solid third-person action, mixed with some serious RPG elements, hooked me at E3. It’s out for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Here’s a fancy new trailer that you can watch repeatedly to pass the time before the game’s release....

Kojima might be making a thing that you might want

We laugh about how vague and difficult to understand the Metal Gear series has always been, but you have to consider that that stuff has a point of origin … and apparently the inside of Hideo Kojima’s brain is similarly vague. For instance, in a recent chat withIGN, Kojima offered up these tidbits about what to expect from him in the future: “The one that I said that I’ve been wanting to make – this is a new franchise and a new title,” he said, confirming at least one fresh property under development alongsideMetal Gear Solid: Peace WalkerandMetal Gear Solid: Rising....

Kristen Bell talks about talking in Astro Boy: The VideoGame

After the break, you’re able to watch actress Kristen Bell talk about her voice work in the upcomingAstro Boy: The Video Game. She voices the character Cora, who is the main female character in the game and movie. Honestly, I have nothing else to say and this is just an excuse to just post a video of Kristen Bell on a videogame Web site. I have nothing constructive to say anymore....

Last Remnant debut trailer revealed at last

Square Enix has finally unveiled the firstnon-teasertrailer for their upcoming attempt at doingNinety-Nine Nightsright, and while I will be holding my breath and crossing my fingers hoping this game doens’t sound pretty on paper but come out uglier than Ben Afflecks littlegoblin baby, you can just judge for yourself.Square-Enix has a long history of making potentially amazing but eventually disappointing non-FFgames, and this could very well be one of them. The wholeDynasty Warriorsgenre really needs a champion to arise and grab Sterling Jim by the cajones while screaming “releasing thesame shizzleevery six months with a longer title is NOT OKAY!...

Left 4 Dead confirmed as PC/360 exclusive

It’s over the caterwauling of Nick Chester that I write this, the man’s heart has been broken, and as you might suspect,it’s all the fault of a few zombies. You see, in spite of rumors thatLeft 4 Deadwould be ported to the PS3 being denied by Valve themselves (which in the grand scheme of things is like confirmation from On High) Nick, in his childlike optimism, held out hope. Now I, in league with Valve, am here to crush those hopes....

Let’s Kinect arcade game uses Microsoft’s Kinect sensor

No space in your living room for Kinect? Here’s an idea — go to your local arcade! TheLet’s Kinectarcade game made its debut at the IAPPA trade show last week, and it’s just what a sounds like — an arcade game that utilizes Microsoft’s Kinect sensor. It’s actually a lot olike Nintendo’s Play Choice 10 arcade cabinets in that it plays retail titles that are operated on a timer. It should be pointed out that this isn’t Microsoft getting in the arcade business; it’s not an official Microsoft product....

Lock your doors! Hide your purses! Real Niko Bellic is on the loose!

Even though I am absolutely terrified of therealistic MariothatPixelooreleased a couple months back, I think this recently created “real” Niko Bellic fromGrand Theft Auto IVmay scare me just a little bit more. True, he doesn’t haveenormous eyesthat willsteal your soulorgrotesque, glistening teats, but Niko looksexactlylike a guy I saw on the subway the other day. Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom demo on Xbox Live (squee!)

As well asEnslaved: Odyssey to the West, there has been one other Namco Bandai game that I’ve really looked forward to this year. It hasn’t received half the press and marketing, but it is a very charming looking game that I very much enjoyed playing at E3. It’s calledMajin and the Forsaken Kingdom, and you should download the demo today. Majin is a game about a cute monster who looks a bit like Ludo fromLabyrinth....
