Max needs a shave and a clean shirt in Max Payne 3

Game Informerwill drop yet another exclusive in their July issue, this time with Rockstar’sMax Payne 3. The issue’s cover shows off the new look of the “dark hero reborn.” Seems like the guy needs a shave and to find a laundromat; looks like he got spaghetti sauce (or something, who knows with this guy) on his shirt and pants. The issue will contain the requisite 10-page story which will “give you the scoop on what has happened to Payne over the last 10 years and why he’s back to a life of blood and violence....

Meet ‘The Ballad of Gay Tony’s’ Yusuf Amir

This afternoon Rockstar North pushed out another teaser trailer for “The Ballad of Gay Tony,” the second piece of DLC forGrand Theft Auto IV. Like the last little vignette, this one focuses on a single character: Yusuf Amir. Those with good memories will remember clearing out a business of his in the Playboy X mission “Deconstruction for Beginners.” Amir possesses quite the swagger. Of course, what corrupt billionaire property owner in Liberty City doesn’t?...

Microsoft/Sony ‘experimenting’ with 360/PS3 successors

2K Games boss Christoph Hartmann believes that Microsoft and Sony have their minds planted firmly in the next generation, with devices like Kinect and PlayStation Move acting as experiments forfuture technology. “I don’t think they are avoiding doing another machine but testing the water,” he said. “Rather than coming out and saying ‘this is our console now,’ I think they are playing around and seeing what they can do. These guys know how to manufacture the chips or push the memory, the kind of thing you usually get with each new console generation....

Mini-games in Alice: Madness Returns

AnotherAlice: Madness Returnstrailer has been released, showing off the assorted mini-games sprinkled throughout Wonderland. There’s a ghost ship shoot-em-up, 2D platforming stages in paintings, crushing armies of card soldiers as a giant and something I can only call Super Creepy Baby Doll Head Ball. These look fun to me. They wouldn’t nudge me in any way towards buying the game but since I’m already planning to make the purchase, it’s nice to have another glimpse into what wonders there are to see....

Modern Warfare 3 introduces a whole new Killstreak system

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much of a change inModern Warfare 3fromModern Warfare 2going into Call of Duty XP. Needless to say, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games blew my mind after all the bombshell changes going intoModern Warfare 3. The biggest change being the new Killstreak system. Strike Packages, as they are now called, will come in three flavors and are designed for three type of core play styles. Assault is what you remember Killstreaks to be, Support is designed to help aid your team, and Specialist is every Perk you can get....

Monday Mind Teasers: Zoning out

You know how it works! With the help of each other, try to figure out all of the disguised game covers. They all share a common theme that, once solved, can help you figure out the harder ones. This week we have a pretty easy theme matched with some really hard game cover puzzles. There’s plenty of games that I’ve never even heard of this week, so be prepared to do a little investigating online....

My guide to making a killer PC on the cheap

[Editor’s note: WastelandTraveler wrote up a great guide at building yourself a awesome PC on the cheap. — CTZ] [Note:I did not include mouse/keyboard or monitor. I’m taking into consideration that most people on here already have such things, so you may use them for the new rig. Main reason for the monitor is because with most HDTV’s today, they have a PC port on the back. Not to mention the video card in this build has a native HDMI port … you see where I am going with this?...

New Blaster Master game coming to WiiWare this Monday?!?

Jesus, where the hell did this come from? Did someone at Sunsoft forget to do PR for the past few weeks, or did they think that the less time we have to anticipate a game, the more likely we are to pick it up on an impulse buy? Either way, I’ll be sure to pick upBlaster Master Overdrivewhen it launches on WiiWare this Monday for 1,000 WiiPoints. Ten bucks is a steal for a sequel toBlaster Master, which is easily one of my favorite NES games ever....

New Cursed Mountain videos look significantly creepy

Fog. Darkness. Unrecognizable surroundings. These are three of the essential ingrediants for any horror game, but they’re also three elements that I crave, and from what I’ve seen ofCursed Mountainso far, I’m expecting to get healthy helpings of all of them. Venture past the jump to check out two new videos, one showing off you running through the mountains (looks like both Wiimote and nunchuk will be used for that) and another with some combat that looks downright chill-inducing....

A really bored writer over atTechnaBobwenthunting through theUSPTOPatent database(guess he was tired ofMinesweeper) and discovered a patent application from Nintendo detailing a portable gaming system that will use the same type of motion sensing technology found in theWiimote. The patent was actually created back in March, but was updated just this week. Whether Nintendo actually makes this or not, it’s safe to say that no one would be surprised.
