PS3 firmware 3.41was recently launched, and despite containing apotential patchthat makes future updates easier, some users are complaining that they can’t update at all, with the new firmware reportedly causing system crashes. Some users are being told to check their network settings, even though they are connected just fine and nothing’s changed on their network in the short space of time since the last firmware update. Those that have managed to install the update have received an error message stating that “no applicable data” can be retrieved....

Now, this is less of a confirmation and more of a slip, but it does give us hope. According toGizmodo, Sony let it slip in a recent comment toMCVthat in-game chat is on the way. “Our momentum will continue with the introduction of in-game communication in the summer, firmware update 2.4 and the strongest line-up of games through our third party partners and our own studios. I’d personally like to thank our trade and business partners for helping us on the start of the PS3 journey....

Sonyhas confirmedanAssassin’s CreedPSP spin-off title, along withLittleBigPlanetandRock Band. No details have yet been made clear, except for the fact that it will be an “exclusive installment” of the franchise and that it will come as part of a “PSP Entertainment Pack.” The bundle will include the game and a “piano black” PSP, among other items that are yet to be revealed. Sony has also referenced, but provided no details, about PSP versions ofMotorCross,Rock BandandLittleBigPlanetamong other titles....

Earlier this afternoon, Radiangames, an indie studio formed to spit out “a series of highly focused and enjoyable games,” announced its existence. The fledgling house is led by Luke Schneider, a former Volition and Outrage Entertainment veteran credited for work in several games, including last year’s best open-world action titleRed Faction: Guerrilla. Schneider probably isn’t planning to release a pixilated spin-off of that series (considering he’s dubbing his game as an “original), but we’ll know soon enough: his undisclosed game for an undisclosed platform is being announced on March 4th....

Sega’s upcoming gameThe Incredible Hulkmay be a lot of things, but one thing it’s not is “realistic.” We’re talking about a massive green dude tearing apart New York City, folks. Still, Sega keep insisting that the title is an “intensely realistic third-person action” game. Not simply realistic — “intensely realistic.” That’s a wild claim right there. Realistic or not, the game isn’t looking half bad, and the dynamic open world of New York City combined with the wild amount of destruction Sega is promising has my attention....

AnInternet Matlock at NeoGafhas uncovered some very interesting information regarding the newly released (in Japan) Xbox 360 RPGLost Odyssey. The Feelplus development team that worked on the game seem to be mostly made up of ex-Nautilus employees — if you don’t know Nautilus, get outta town — it’s the now-defunct company responsible forLegend of Dragoon,Phantom Dustand, most importantly, the awesomeShadow Heartsfranchise. Originally called Sacnoth, the company was acquired by Azure Entertainment and changed its name to Nautilus from the development ofShadow Hearts: Covenantonward....
