Castlevania composer not notable enough for Wikipedia

Read this “Articles for deletion/Kinuyo Yamashita” on Wikipedia. It will make you want to pull your face off. “Not notable enough” is what they say when talking about pulling her Wiki entry down. Look, making the music for one of videogame’s classics, is pretty freakin’ notable. Yamashita has done plenty. She’s plenty notable. Her article linked to both her recent Video Games Live appearance and the fantastic interview recently run onOriginal Sound Version, but all of that is apparently not good enough....

Change4Life returns with a pro-game message

Many of you should rememberChange4Life, the health-conscious ad campaign that seemed to draw correlation between playing videogames and risking an early death. The controversy surrounding the campaign and anger from the game industry seems to have spurred Change4Life into a response, and itslatest campaignwill show the positive side of gaming. “Active” videogames will be suggested as part of a young person’s “60 active minutes.” The commercial will debut in the UK this evening, and should go some way to appeasing TIGA, the British game industry representative that expressed concern with the potential message of previous adverts....

Check out video of Square’s new puzzler, Yosumin Live!

Yosumin Live!certainly looks happy, although I have to admit the upset and slightly peeved faces of some of the Yosumin themselves put a smile on my face. We’ve known about the Xbox Live puzzle title sincelate last year, but it was confirmed in last night’s game onslaught announced at theMicrosoft press conference, and today we have video of how it will actually play (which you may see after the jump)....

Check out Wizorb, a retro block-breaking RPG

This looks like it could be pretty cool. It’s a game calledWizorb, releasing soon to PC and Xbox Live Indie Games. You’re a wizard on a quest and and that quest includes bouncing a ball off of your staff to break blocks. But it exhibits a lovely degree of polish in the trailer and I’m a bigArkanoidfan, so I’m pretty pumped for it. I know I keep saying this, but the quality level of some of the titles releasing to Xbox Live Indie Games has been really impressive as of late....

Clay-animated XBLA/PC title Cletus Clay has a bad name that makes sense

First off, I’d like to say toCletus Clayis an awful name for a game taken out of context. But considering it’s an upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade and PC title about a gun-toting hillbilly and the game is animated entirely using clay models … well, it makes sense. Second, the name of the developer, Tuna Technologies just sounds disgusting. Tuna take on its own isn’t bad, but something about typing out “Tuna Technologies” brings to mind sloppy-looking circuitry slathered in greasy, canned tuna fish....

Friday night. It’s a time when we all go out to the movies and enjoy the finest pickings that Hollywood has to offer. Destructoid’s picks: September 2007

If you’re anything like the team here at Destructoid, deciding which videogames to buy in any given month is never really a problem. You simply roll up to the local game shop in your stretch Hummer, send in your army of European supermodel slaves (armed with black Centurion Amex cards), and you have them buy every single one of them. More likely, however, you’re torn — do you shoot things this month, or do you drive real fast while shooting things?...
