Today was a very busy day indeed. Three keynotes, and tons of new information came from Microsoft. New dashboard interface is on the way, Avatars, play Xbox 360 games by dumping them onto the HDD, and plenty of news on new first party title 360 games. SquareEnix, Capcom and EA dropped some big bombs today too. And E3 hasn’t even technically started! Tomorrow is going to be very busy as Nintendo and Sony are giving their keynotes....

We know a newRed Factiontitle is on the way, but now we know it could potentially focus on the series’ beginnings… or its end. Two domains have been registered by THQ earlier this year — redfactionarmageddon.com and redfactionorigins.com. Actually, five domains were registered, three additional domains with “alternate spellings” — “origin,” “armagedon,” and “armegeddon.” Nice one, THQ. Wouldn’t want someone snapping those up and putting “destruction porn” ads all over it....

Numbers! The whole point of a beta is to collect numbers and data. Naughty Dog has released some intriguing Uncharted 3 beta metrics. Not only is Uncharted 3 the largest PlayStation 3 beta yet at 1.53 million participants, but overall, 362 years have been spent playing 22 million matches. In just 14 days, 48 billion shots fired have resulted in 1.9 billion kills, which translates to 1.4 trillion dollars. I’m never sure if I should be amazed or horrified by the time and dedication revealed by data like this....

Valve has launched its blog forDota 2, which happens to include a lengthy Q&A. Keep in mind, these are the kind of answers that serious players are going to get more use out than anyone else. Even still, it’s vital information for a game we don’t know a heck of a lot about. A news station here in my home state of Oregon ran a report yesterday regarding a man from Klamath Falls who killed a fifteen year old byliterallyblowing him apart with a shotgun. His defense centered around the idea that violent video games drove him to murder. Of course, if it weren’t for the games, he would probably be a stripper, or an astronaut, or a really sexy combination of the two that wouldneverconsider liquifying the body of a teenager with a pump-action cannon....

Ok, ok, I have to admit that the intro to Over the Top’sNyxQuest: Kindred Spirits(embedded after the break) is about four days old by now.
