Feelplus’s Mindjack delayed to 2011

I have such mixed feelings aboutMindjack, the Square-Enix-published title from Feelplus that puts the player in the role of an FIA agent in search of a missing woman. I haven’t cared for anything that Square Enix has published or developed in some time. On the other hand, Feelplus made it, who also madeLost Odyssey, one of my favorite RPGs of the past five years. What shall I do? CONFLICT! Well, it looks as if for now, I can’t do much of anything, because the game is being delayed to 2011....

Fight Night Champion screens bring the hurt

As you can see, Manny Pacquiao is having a very bad day in EA Sports’ upcoming boxing game, therecently-announcedFight Night Champion. The title, which is due out sometime next year, already looks like it’s going to have much better damage modeling than its predecessor,Fight Night Round 4(not thatFNR4was a slouch in the visual department, mind you). Check out the game’s first three screenshots, which feature Pacquiao versus Winky Wright, in the gallery below....

First images of Rock Band, ‘The thing is really huge!’

IGN has scored the first screenshots of the Electronic Arts/Hamonix musical monster,Rock Band, all of which reveal absolutely nothing about game play mechanics. In fact,in the accompanying interview, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos is closely guarded when it comes to just howRock Bandwill play out. He says thing like “I can’t comment yet on gameplay details,” and my favorite, “That’s something I can’t talk about.” Still, he’s confident in his product, and he certainly has every right to be....

Free App of the Day: Destroy9

It’s not often that I can emphatically stand behind one of my FAotD picks and say “Get this thing!” A lot of the time, I find games that arekind ofcool, or only worth gettingbecausethey are free. WithDestroy9, however, I am quite prepared to put myself on the line and say that this game is a complete steal for its temporary free price. GET THIS THING! The game is quite simple and its style isn’t entirely new, but the presentation and underlying depth makeDestroy9a winner....

Game Boy games have a save anywhere feature on the 3DS

Nintendo showed me what to expect from the 3DS eShop launch next week and the most important info, at least to me, was the info regarding the Virtual Console content. At launch you can expectSuper Mario Land($3.99),Alleyway($2.99) andRadar Mission($2.99) in the Virtual Console. You folks old enough to remember may be getting Déjà vu as these are some of the same titles that original released with the Game Boy back in the early ’90s....

Game PR: If you need to sh*t on a game, do it after we’ve sold some copies

When reviewing an un-named Wii launch title, Navarro had a most intriguing request from the PR company handling its publicity: If the review is 9.0 or higher you can post immediately. Lower than 9.0, could you please hold until launch day, November 19th? Thanks. Navarro also said that this wasn’t exactly a unique request, either. It really shouldn’t surprise anybody that a publicist would want the bad reviews held off until launch day, but damn, 9....

Gears universe will live on after Gears of War 3

Absolutely shocking news. Epic has said theGears of Waruniverse will continue afterGears of War 3. However, the third game in the series will wrap up the Marcus Fenix storyline and it won’t end with a cliffhanger — something that would surely grind some fans’ gears if they did. Executive producer Rod Fergusson told CVG that “”We’re bringing the biggest campaign with ever made, we’re bringing Horde, we’re bringing Beast, we’re bringing a really deep multiplayer with rewards and unlocks and thousands of hours of gameplay....

God Eater Burst announced for North America

We guessed correctly last week when we said that theGod Eatergame coming from D3 Publisher would actually be the upcomingGod Eater Burst. This PSP title was just recently revealed in Japan, so it’s nice to see that we’re also getting this enhanced version, and not just the original Japanese release from last year. When that original was released, it sold over half a million copies in under three weeks. That was more than enough to send team Project G....

Gran Turismo to be ‘totally different’ from Prologue

Damn, I hope so!GT5: Prologuewas likeokay, cool. Great control, terrible crash physics, immersive racing. Oh, and extremely short and lacking in polish. Honestly, other than the short part, Prologue was exactly what I was expecting. A pay demo. I’m kind of glad they released that “pay demo” as they’re still making us wait for the real thing. At least it was something! Polyphony Digital head man Kazunori Yamauchi says that the real deal will be “totally different” from Prologue....

Green Day: Rock Band to feature Dookie, American Idiot?

IncludingAmerican Idiotand, more importantly,Dookieas a part ofGreen Day: Rock Bandmakes sense. Those cats at Harmonix? They seem sensible enough. According to alisting for the gameon Play.com, we can expect to see both albums in their entirety. I know not everyone is exactly keen on the idea of Green Day getting its own music game, and I’m right there with you, to an extent. But hell, if it’s going to happen, it might as well happen in the best possible way, don’t you think?...
