E3 10: A closer look at the final retail Kinect unit

Tonight at a surreal event at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, Microsoft unveiled the final design of the product-formerly-known-as-Project-Natal, Kinect. What Microsoft ended up with is not all that different than what we had been seeing since its reveal at last year’s E3, a long, shiny black bar that sits on an adjustable base. In its press materials, Microsoft may have also revealed piece of an ad campaign that we’ll no doubt hear repeated dozens of times prior to its holiday launch:...

Earth Seeker has a new trailer, game looks lovely

While we make a big stink aboutThe Last Storyon Destructoid, there’s another, lesser known Wii game that we’re also hoping gets a Western release —Earth Seeker. This is a wonderful looking little action RPG that’s certainly caught me eye, and here’s a new trailer for it. This game looks like it has what I want from my Wii games — an endearing design that makes up for the less impressive graphics, a quirky world, and gameplay that isn’t just waggling....

According to Electronic Arts, North America thought that everything inArmy of Twowas fine and dandy, while Europeans found the experience ridiculous and tasteless. While EA’s Mark Reid says that you’re able to’t please everyone, he’s certainly hoping thatArmy of Two‘s upcoming sequel will bridge the cultural gap a little more. “We had this whole market in the US that thought the tone was cool, but in Europe everyone thought it was ridiculous and tasteless and a bunch of frat guys running around,”said the EA Montreal EP....

FaceBreaker developer Q&A with Lead Designer Todd Batty

We here at Destructoid are well aware that many of you have been following EA’sFaceBreaker, a game that looks like a fighting game under the guise of the sport of boxing. Some may have found the demo a bit underwhelming, and a few people have criticized the arguably questionablecelebrityadditionsto the game, which, at the very least, caused me to scratch my head, bemused. Regardless, I’m sure that a good amount of people still are interested in how the finished product turns out....

Fanboy Friday: I heared the game is not that good

Another week, another game review. As I’m sure you all know,Battlefield 1943recently came out for both PSN and XBLA. As is IGN’s policy, the two versions of the game get a copy/pasted identical review, presumably to prevent fanboy wars from breaking out. And, as is what always happens, everyone still fights and screams at each other. Additionally, GameTrailers also reviewed the game, and we got some hilarious comments about the score....

Games of the Week for 18-06-2025: Not funny edition

Poor, poor Bill Murray. It was so hard on him in the early days. I can totally relate. I am far, far more funny in real life than I am on this blog. Yes, sir, I’m a veritable fount of comedy gold in person but I just can’t seem to be funny on the site. Bill’s suggestion would be an adequate solution, if you’re so inclined. The Destructoid staff did what it does passably this week: We played videogames and lots of them....
