Halostudio Bungie has been keeping the blog fires stoked lately with the return of its “Superintendent” viral marketing campaign. However, after wasting more time than I’m at liberty to spend, the veil has finally been lifted and unveiled … a teaser trailer for someHaloexpansion....

CES 2010: Rock out with your stage monitor speaker out

We’ve seen stage monitor speakers forRock BandandGuitar Herobefore, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one made by a company with the pedigree that Polk Audio has. Until today, that is. Unveiled at CES this week is the HitMaster Gaming Stage Monitor, yet another way that music gamers can spend lots of money on additional accessories. The HitMaster seems pretty cool. Built into the same kind of enclosure used in normal stage monitor speakers, it looks the part and should be pretty damn durable....

Critter Crunch makes me wish I could vomit rainbows

Never did I imagine that I would fall for a game that involved your character throwing up into other creatures mouths. Everything aboutCritter Crunchjust looks so delightful! The character animation is wonderful, I love that you’re killing other little creatures and I giggle every time the critter vomits up rainbow juices. So cute! The new screenshots show off some never-before-seen stuff. There’s versus power-ups like the Anvil and “poison” mushroom, the co-op mode, co-op power-ups, cutscenes, the world map, new critters and more....

Dead Space Extraction weapon and story details extracted

Bit by bit, more details on the Wii gameDead Space Extractionseem to come to light.Glen Schofield, general manger at EA Redwood Shores, has dropped a few details on the game’s setting, saysCVG. The game takes place three weeks before Isaac hops on the delightful Ishimura, the ship that the firstDead Spacegame takes place in. You’ll start off on a planetinhabited by people…and then things’ll get freaky. It seems that you will play as a couple of people in the game, and you’ll work to protect and save a heroine....

Debate: Heroes or No More Heroes?

As you’ve probablyall heard by now,Heroesby Suda 51 for the Wii has been re-titledNo More Heroes. The game puts you in the role of Travis Touchdown, an ordinary guy who wins a “Beam Katana” (Suda’s words, not mine) in an online auction, and goes on to be ranked #11 by an organization called the UAA, which governs mercenaries. The game will apparently be open-ended to some extent, giving you the option of roaming about in a city known as Santa Destroy, as you try to hunt down the top ten UAA assassins and get to the #1 position....

Destructoid’s games of the week for 03/25/07: Triumphant return edition?

For those keeping score at home, I kinda, sorta, somehow missed last week’s session of “what have the editors been jamming into their consoles?”, and for that I’m very, very sorry. I’ve been beating myself up about it all week, and at one point I took to downing handfuls of Percocet washed down with rum in a vain effort to end my bleak, meaningless existence. As it turns out, sadly, I’m an immortal....

Dragon Age II demo coming February 22

The game industry is stupid. We all basicallyconfirmed aDragon Age IIdemo yesterday, but BioWare and Electronic Arts simply pretended it wasn’t a thing. Then, along comes today, and itisa thing. A demo for the upcoming RPG sequel is out on February 22. “In the demo, players will venture through the game’s prologue, choosing from three different character classes,” says the PR blurb. “They’ll also learn more about Hawke and hone their skills and abilities that will make them the ultimate hero....

DS brings interactivity to America’s game; America’s game burps, scratches ass

Safeco Field — home of the partially-Nintendo-owned Seattle Mariners — isset to becomethe testing ground for a new interactive baseball experience courtesy of the Big N. The games company, most famous for its mascot-based EVERYTHING and having fans whose zealotry borders on Islamic fanaticism, has begun pitching an idea that would turn the DS into a sort of touch screen interface for things such as game footage, food services and (we hope) inspiring quotes from Bob Uecker....

E3 09: Army of Two: The 40th Day still rocks the destruction

I’ve already seenArmy of Two: The 40th Day. A few months back, I got ahands-off demoof the game, and came away pretty impressed. Too bad EA is pulling a fast one, and the only thing we got to see ofArmy of Two: The 40th Daywas…a hands-off demo. Thanks EA. Thankfully for the Positive Polly’s out there, EA did actually show off some new stuff, and the general game is looking much more chaotic, which is a great thing....
