Tecmo Bowl Throwback rated by ESRB

Chances are we’ll see aTecmo Bowlgame on the Xbox 360 or the PS3 at some point in the future. TheESRBhas listed “Tecmo Bowl Throwback,” a game with mild suggestive themes and familiar zany, old-school football action that we enjoyed on the NES or whatever. Note that this isn’t a confirmed title: Tecmo hasn’t announced it yet, despite the rumor-mongering within the last month. But Tecmo is a business that, presumably, enjoys making money....

TGS 08: Taiko Drum Master Wii hands-on

I’m aTaiko Drum Master/Taiko no Tatsujinfantatic, so I just had to get my hands on the latest version, coming soon to the Nintendo Wii in Japan. As for the US release, I’m not sure. We saw the PS2 release awhile back, but it didn’t sell that well. I don’t care about all of that, though; I just wanted to play it. I was a bit surprised to find out that the Wii version ofTaikodoes not use a couple of Wii Remotes in place of drum sticks....

The Daily Hotness: I want Batman: Arkham Asylum now

Three weeks ago,I previewedBatman: Arkham Asylum. I came away very impressed, even though my session was only eyes-on (“no touching!”). But at GDC yesterday, Anthony and Nick — the bastards — got some hands-on time with the game’s challenge rooms. They seem like they’re going to introduce an element of unpredictability into a game that we’re already hearing has relatively repetitive, simple combat, so I’m definitely glad to see them....

The Last Story commercial is … wait, is that Ganondorf?

A new TV spot for Mistwalker’sThe Last Storyhas been unleashed, and if you pay careful attention, you’ll see a chap who looks almost exactly like Ganondorf in it. It wouldn’t be quite so remarkable if he wasn’t also emulating the Gerudo’s rather famous brooding pose fromThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. That little observation aside, this is thirty seconds of cutscene stuff that does little to dampen my excitement for the game thatmay or may not ever make it Westward....
