I’m told thatDragon Age: Originsis more than just a demonstration of how to look awkward while getting down. It’s also, according to local scuttlebutt, a very popular “role-playing game,” a genre notable for its storytelling techniques and extensive gameplay density. I might have to give one of these newfangled amusements a spin at some point. No time like the present, apparently. Bioware’s award-winning überfantasy is Amazon’s Deal of the Day. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have been reduced to $39....

Silicon Knights visionary Denis Dyack has criticized social gaming as found on networks like Facebook, accusing the medium of harming traditional games and predicting that the whole concept is going to crash harder thanToo Human. “It is damaging traditional gaming for sure but … how it’s going to work out is anyone’s guess,” said Dyack. “The trend that I see is it’s probably going to be one of the biggest bubbles and explosions that our industry’s seen in a long time and I think when it crashes it’s going to crash very hard....

Honda to the available list of fighters, bringing the total number up to 12 world warriors. In an odd move, while the characters are free, additional costumes are not. Premium downloadable content in the form of alternate costumes for Ryu (a topless gi) and Chun-Li (a slinky dress) is now being offered....

Looking back on all the wonderful (and slightly less wonderful) things that we’ve seen so far at this year’s E3, I thinkSin and Punishment 2was one of my (Ashley) favorites. And to think, we nearly completely missed the display for the game! We must have gone through Nintendo’s booth ten times, never seeing it once. After a little guidance from Nintendo booth expert Mr. Concelmo, we finally got to see and play the game earlier today....

Gameloft might be a company you know about from their cell phone games. I know I’ve bought something of theirs in the past. However, they’ve really made a push into the growing market of the iPhone, which is probably the only phone out there that can be called a game console. Anyway, Gameloft was kind enough to show off four of their upcoming games for the iPhone. We’ve got a nifty little platformer, two music games and a tennis game coming to Apple’s wunderphone....

LittleBigPlanetis not as big as it used to be now that it’s on the PSP, but it sure looks great. In fact, you’d be surprised at how well the game translates to portable form. Or at least I was. In the E3 demo we were presented with, Sackboy and his surroundings look much like they do on the PS3 version of the game. He still moves in and out of multiple planes by pressing up a or down on the analog stick, and he still jumps and grabs onto things to push or pull them....

The hot news for today is not Nintendo related. Everyone’s talking about aboutNatalandMetal Gearand loads of other Microsft news that could very well blow all our minds. But what about all the people out there that will never, ever,everlike anything that Microsoft does…ever? What are they supposed to talk about today? Yes, you read that headline correctly. In one of the odder news bites to come out of E3 week, it seems that the classic cat and mouse duo will be getting an MMO based around them. The game is being developed by Typhoon Games — the developer behind past MMO classicsHello Kitty OnlineandBen 10 Omniverse— and is set to come out in the second quarter of 2010. Although there aren’t a huge amount of details right now, it looks like players will be able to create a cat and mouse avatar and control them simultaneously in PVE and PVP combat....

That’s it! Now you know! Kinect for Xbox 360 is launching worldwide this holiday, beginning with North America on November 4th, 2010. The launch lineup will include over 15 titles, includingKinect Sports, Kinectimals, Kinect Joy Ride, EA Sports Active 2, Kinect Adventures, Dance Central, and a few others. It’s compatible with all existing Xbox 360s, including the just-announced slim model, though there’s no word on pricing just yet. Check back with us for more details and coverage!...

This special DLC expansion is an all-new story concerning the lovably grotesque Pigsy and his quest to build the perfect woman. Apparently,Enslaveddidn’t perform too well in the sales department, and that makes me very sad. It was a beautiful game and a lot of fun to play. I hope everybody who kept it at least continues to support the game, as I’d absolutely hate for yet another ambitious new IP to whither and die....
