I’ll admit, I had no idea that the PC version of Rockstar’sGrand Theft Auto IV(set to ship on December 2) included a full-featured video editing program. The Video Editor feature will let you grab in-game footage, make real-time edits, and then output the clips to WMV movie files. You can also edit the clips, add effects like music, text, transitions and more. Once complete (or incomplete, depending on how lazy you are), the videos can be shared on the newRockstar Games Social Club TV site, which just went live today....

It’s hard for me to overstate how much I really enjoyed SouthPeak’sRoogooon Xbox LIVE Arcade (the game was also available on the PC). Adorable and addictive, the frantic shape-dropping action ofRoogoomade me happy. Now, it’s coming to the Wii and Nintendo DS, and we have the new screens the prove it. While it seems like the general mechanics are the same — there is a shape, put it the hole that looks like that shape — SouthPeak is adding new features to try to make the games worth your while....

Call of Duty 7has allegedly been exposed asCall of Duty: Black Ops. This has been declared by aMYSTERIOUS SOURCEfrom Activision that recently spilled the beans. According to thisMYSTERIOUS SOURCE, Treyarch’s upcoming game will take place not only in Vietnam, but at various points throughout history, providing a narrative that spans many times and places. World War II, the Cold War, Cuba, South America and the famous Iranian embassy siege in London are all rumored to be included inBlack Ops....

Edge of Twilightis a game we’ve been following a lot on Destructoid, but if recentrumorshave any truth to them, the coverage may be ending without reward. The release of Fuzzyeyes’ steampunk adventure game is in severe doubt, and it’s being whispered that it won’t ever release. We have contacted Fuzzyeyes for a comment and hope to hear back from them soon. There are things about this game we already knew but have not been able to discuss, and some of them have not been good....

Yesterday,Kotaku reportedon some leaked release dates for all upcoming versions ofRock Band 2. We did a little legwork this morning (i.e. walked into a GameStop and asked for a release list) and were able to find even more details on the alleged release dates. GameStop is currently listing thatRock Band 2(disc only) for the Xbox 360 is street dated for September 14. The special edition bundle (presumably containing the new guitar and new drum kit) has a street date of October 19, which is the same day the standalone disc and bundle is street dated for the PlayStation 3....

I’d bet that most of you that are looking forward to the DS version ofChrono Triggerare probably long time fans of the game, and you’re just wanting to immerse yourself in the amazing story and game play once more. The promise of some new areas and an “online mode” sound interesting, but a lack of details has done little to entice fans so far. Now we hear rumors that the promised “online mode” may be a sort of a monster battling mode....

In an early running for themost ridiculous rumor of the year, it is being claimed that Travellers Tales is working to produceLego Rock Band. Yes, you read that correctly.LegoandRock Band, together at last. Despite this one having a strong whiff of the bullsh*t about it, the good old “anonymous source” it came from is claiming that this is 100% correct. That proves it then. Most people are calling it “the stupidest rumor [they’ve] ever read,” and I am inclined to agree that, true or not, this is one stupid concept....

THQ has revealed that it plans to supportSaints Row: The Thirdfor at least a year, with downloadable content planned for a twelve-month post-launch spread. That’s a lot of downloadable dildo helmets! “Saints Row‘s digital ecosystem will contain the most comprehensive suite of digital content across our portfolio, including a season pass, micro-transactions, planned DLC offerings for nearly a year post launch, game add-ons, consumables and an in-game store,” said THQ CEO Brian Farrell....

It’s no secret that Mad Catz had a limited manufacturing run of theirStreet Fighter IVFight Sticks and Gamepads. The small numbers are indicative of a company that isn’t used to its name being associated with quality. It’s a perception (and perhaps a corporate culture) that Mad Catz wants to change. Comparison screenshots are one thing, but when you do a well-done comparison video, trying to discern the difference between a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 cross-platform game suddenly takes on a much different meaning. Of course,F.E.A.R.may not be the best game to compare since it was originally a PC title, then a 360 title and then finally a PS3 title.Had it been a PS3-only orPS3-developedfirst title, would there be a bigger difference?...

What a move! Not too long agowe told you that Akira Yamaoka, composer and (later) director ofSilent Hillgames, left Konami after 16 years. Where did he end up? Grasshopper Manufacture. Wait, what? He’s working with theNo More Heroesguys? Silicon Knights has hired financial sector veteran Michael Mays as the company’s new vice president. Mays now has the extraordinary job of working intimately with the company’s outspoken president and founder Denis Dyack. It isn’t known if Mays had to go through an elaborate hazing ritual, however it appears as if he’ll fit right in with the Ontario studio. Edgereportedthat one of the Mays’ first acts as vice president was to hand out battle swords to nine members of Silicon Knights who had weathered a decade ofToo Human, Dyack, and Canada....
