No Sega Marine Fishing in this Sega Dreamcast Collection

TheSega Dreamcast Collectiongets released this week for PC and Xbox 360, and includes old games you might have played. Games likeCrazy Taxi,Sonic Adventure,Space Channel 5 Part 2andSega Bass Fishing. In actual widescreen no less. But where isSega Marine Fishing? It was the Dreamcast’s best game ever, and every single fishing game since has been a major letdown. I think it’s about time for full sequel in HD. Hell, I’d even buy Move for it....

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits descends upon Steam this month

Over the Top Games’ self-published WiiWare titleNyxQuest: Kindred Spiritsis heading to PC and Mac later this month. I still say the name makes it sound like a breakfast cereal, but in actuality, it’s about Greek mythology and the story of Icarus. Close enough! The WiiWare version was heavy on the motion controls, so this ought to be a pretty good fit for the classic mouse and keyboard setup. No exact release date has been given, butwe do know thatit has Steam achievements....

Oh wait, my bad! Mario Kart doesn’t even have text support!

Alright, soremember how I saidthatMario Kartfor the Wii will support text chatting? Well I was completely wrong. Or rather, Nintendo has no idea what the hell texting means. Here’s the deal,Mario Kartwill only support pre-determined phrases that people can send to each other, which Nintendo will provide. So phrases like “Hello”, “Lets race!” and “Lets have fun!” are some of the things that are safe to assume will be available. Thank God you’re here to protect us Nintendo!...

Pachter: Games on Demand prices are likely to change

We’ve talked about Microsoft’s Games on Demand initiative for Xbox 360timeandtime again, but hey, we aren’t the only ones. AnalystMichael Pachter also hasa few things to say about the digital distribution service as well. “I think that the point of pricing at or above catalog prices at retail is to capture the convenience customer, who wants the game and doesn’t plan to make a special trip to the store to buy it....

Preview: Prototype

If you asked me to think back to the last game I had so much fun playing that I actually let loose with a sound generally reserved for the moment you go flying down a rollercoaster while playing it, I would have been hard-pressed to come up with one. After all, many games are fun, but there’s a difference between the kind of fun you have in a silent-but-enjoying-oneself kind of way and a loud, excited, unable-to-keep-it-to-yourself kind of way....

RAGE and RAGE HD getting beefy updates soon!

John Carmack has spilled the beans on an update to what was previously the most visually impressive iOS game,RAGE. Quite a few new treats are being tossed in, too. First of all, Game Center support is coming, bringing with it 58 achievements and 13 online leaderboards. Gyroscope controls are being added, and directional damage indicators have been tossed in so you actually know where the hits are coming from. Of course, a few tweaks aren’t impressive, so perhaps you’d rather know about the two new game modes that are coming....

Retailers threaten to stop selling Steam-supporting games

A few unnamed, “key retailers” in the UK have told MCV that they are mad as hell about Steam, and they’re not going to take it anymore. “If we have a digital service, then I don’t want to start selling a rival in-store. Publishers are creating a monster – we are telling suppliers to stop using Steam in their games.” “At the moment the big digital distributors need to stock games with Steam,” states the head of sales for a digital service provider....

RetroforceFAUX! Shark snorkling edition

I can’t believe it … it’s almost over. After a full month of sand frolicking, watching Chad sunbathe in next to nothing, and watching Dyson and Topher have live Pizza Roll/Slurpee fights in front of thousands of befuddled tourists, it’s almost time to pack and come home. In all honesty, I’m kind of looking forward to it — I’m never going to get tan out here, and I miss recording the show!...

RetroforceGO! recording tonight; I miss arcades

That’s right kids (and old people), I miss me my arcades. I miss being able to play the hottest new games in the dark, cigarette scented arenas that used to be my full-time hangout. Where did all these wonderful places go? And, why? Well, we here at the‘Forcedon’t really have the answer to those questions, but it sure won’t stop us from talking about them. Tonight’s episode, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, will be about the good old days of arcades along with some of our favorite games from that era....

Review: Shank

Inspired by graphic novels and the pulp ultra-violence of film directors like Robert Rodriquez and Quentin Tarantino,Shankis a classic saga of revenge, loyalty, betrayal, and love. But mostly revenge … with a chainsaw. It’s a game where the protagonist isn’t necessarily the good guy, but more the least bad of the bad guys, in a seedy world where folks start days with a bar fight and wind down with an evening lap dance....
