Your very own Pyramid Head

Yeah, I’ve had a crush on Pyramid Head since the moment he appeared in all his mannequin raping glory inSilent Hill 2. What can I say? The guy fulfills all my evil specifications. He never speaks, he carries a weapon roughly the size of his entire body, and you have no idea why he’s coming for you. Unfortunately for SH fans, official toys haven’t appeared yet. On the up side, kickass custom figuresare out there....

100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3

A Facebook group called “100,000 Strong for Bringing BackMega Man Legends 3” is rallying the troops to let Capcom know that people want thiscancelled projectback on track. I am a cynical man and I see little that online petitions can achieve, but sod it — if you give a crap, hit the “Like” button. Capcom has endured a lot of hatred for the cancellation ofMega Man Legends 3and it’s obvious that many gamers have felt badly stung by it....

5th Cell’s Hybrid delayed back to 2012

Scribblenautsdeveloper 5th Cell has pushed back the release window for its upcoming shooterHybrid. The studio says it wants to turn the XBLA game into “something great”, so it’s taking extra time to really pour the quality in. According to creative director Jeremiah Slaczka, the game was well received at GDC, but the extra year will help 5th Cell “drill down” everything it’s learned about game development. Fair deal. I love me some 5th Cell and if they want to take some extra time, they’re welcome to it as far as I’m concerned....

Army may test new A.I. in an MMO, probably not any good at PvP

Screw fancy space shields and arming satellites. The U.S. Army has better plans for the future of war – elaborate AI constructs. Even better, your favorite MMOs likeWorld of Warcraft,Maple Story, orEverquestcould be part of the testing grounds for these constructs. The U.S. Army’s director of research and laboratory management, John Parmentola, recently told military technology blogDoD Buzzthat the military isn’t just looking for a few good bombs to invent. Instead, they’re looking to create holograms with a brain that (presumably) could kill a person....

They postedan articleearlier that compares the sales data of various genres over the last year and comes to the conclusion that sinceCars, the licensed game based on the Pixar film, was the second best selling title (behind the unstoppable juggernaut ofMadden 2007), that casual, mainstream gamers are taking over the gaming landscape, and that hardcore, Bawls drinking, vagina fearing gamers are on the way out....

Badass of the month club: Frank West

Time for anotherBadass of the Month Club, wherein the staff highlights a character or industry figure of noteworthy badassery. When I first met Frank West, I wasn’t all that impressed. He’s ugly. He walks with a disconcerting limp. He’s not all that bright, and he comes off as totally shallow. All the guy cares about is JOURNALISM, and as a videogame blogger, that’s something I know quite a bit about. With all that in common, you’d think that Frank and I would have a lot to talk about....

Ballmer: Kinect is the Xbox 360’s ‘next generation’

The inside of Steve Ballmer’s underpants glisten with pre-cum whenever he thinks about Kinect, if his latest statements were made with any degree of sincerity. The hyperactive Microsoft creature has declared that his company’s motion sensing thing is the “next generation” of the Xbox 360. He then gave it a tonguebath. “The device that I’m most keen on … is the next generation of the Xbox 360,” he says, while talking about Kinect....
