New Monster Tale trailer

Majesco’sMonster Taleis looking like an interesting title. The people behind it (also responsible forHenry Hatsworth) seem to really dig the idea of making players play two different games when faced with a pair of screens. I seem to really dig it as well. But if you needed more visually animated evidence of what the game will be like thanColette’s lovely preview from earlier today, please enjoy this video with our compliments....

New Wii SKU? Hoping for Blu-ray and hard drive!

No, I’m not off my rocker. I totally made the second half of that headline up, inspired by tipster and Podcastle regularWardrox, who jokingly claims that it might also includeMetal Gear Solid 4. All of us are full of sh*t here at Destructoid, but ifNeowinisn’t, then there is a new Wii SKU on the way. They say that the current stock is under an “early warning” status at one major American retailer....

Nintendo’s Iwata hints at storage space solution

According to Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata, the laughable 512 megs of internal storage on the Wii only seems to be a concern for a ‘”small number” of customers. This is what he told investors recently, before hinting at a possible solution in the future, if only to appease “the most avid players.” (Also known as “no longertheir target audience” or “an afterthought.”) “We have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience,” he said, possibly forgetting that the Wii has both a USB port and a slot for an SD card....

No Super Meat Boy on PS3, and you can blame Sony

Super Meat Boywill eventually find its way to Xbox 360, Wii and PC, excluding as it will a PS3 release. Now, because you start stamping your feet and shouting “BIAS” while tears start to cloud your vision, make sure you direct your anger at the right people — Sony itself. “Why wont this question die? We have answered it publicly at least 15 times but it just never ends,” says Team Meat....

November software NPD: Modern Warfare 2, other games

We aren’t surprised that Activision and Infinity Ward had a strong showing in the month of November withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The prime reason being that we’re aware that a lot peopleseemto dig the IP. The other reason, of course, is that most studios and publishers steered clear of the launch. Hell, even my mother put off her neck surgery for fear of competition. But some games did come out, and some even sold well considering, at least according to the latest NPD numbers....

One cable to rule them all

For those of us who really DO love next gen gaming,XCMhas become the first out of the gate (at least to my knowledge) to come out with a component cable that will allow your Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 to be hooked up all at the same time. You have no idea (or if you’re rich you do) how annoying it is to switch component cables all the time to play games....

Opinion: Not talking about Final Fantasy XIV

There’s been a lot of news swimming around concerningFinal Fantasy XIV, the MMO successor toFinal Fantasy XIthat was announced at E3. This is news I’ve looked at, but have absolutelyzerointention of talking about. I’m not going to mention the races, the classes, the screenshots, any of that rubbish. At least, not right now. I’ve come to the conclusion thatFinal Fantasy XIVshould not be talked about untilFinal Fantasy XIIIis released. To me, the idea of announcing a sequel to a game that isn’t even out yet is absolutelyludicrous....

Other M videos and commercials leave me feeling scared

Ten days to go until the release ofMetroid: Other Mand Nintendo is really puttingthe marketing machineinto high gear. Sadly, I’m more afraid than ever that the game is going to fail. Every game in theMetroidseries thus far has been fantastic. Can this new, highly experimental entry in the series still shine in the shadow of nearly perfect games likeSuper MetroidandMetroid Prime? Can it keep up with fantasticMetroid-inspired games that have been released in recent years, likeShadow ComplexandCave Story?...
