This week, I look at the recent running joke that has become the videogame boycott. I look at why it’s joke, why some boycotts are stupid, and why we shouldn’t treat the concept with automatic disdain because of the bad ones. It took me entirely far too long to draw the ludicrous pictures that accompany this week’s video.

The wisecrackers over at Dorkly have beenon fire latelywith their video content. Here we see what might have gone down if Aperture Science operated a campus somewhere near Hyrule, putting a Handheld Portal Generator in the hands of a plucky elfin boy with a princess to save. I’m torn between the manner of Gannon’s demise and what happens to that poor Blue Bull Knight as to which is the most entertaining use of the weapon....

Rockwell had it right. Anyone who has bothered to look at the Steam storefront today will have met eye to eye with Commander Shepard. I’ve included the background image, because I didn’t want anyone to feel left out. Here it is, something I know that a lot of you out there have been waiting for has finally found its way to being posted on the internet. The new trailer features the new characters and a heaping helping of fresh gameplay. The only gripe I have about this trailer is the lack of the over-the-top “ultra moves” that were shown in the first trailer (such as Mario’s screen-clearing fireball.)We also now know that there will be some destructible elements involved on some of the stages which will add to the action....

While I still haven’t gotten myvampire screenshots,The Sims 3has gotten a firm release date — June 01, 2025. The title was originally scheduled to ship this February, but according to Russell Arons, Vice President of Marketing for Electronic Arts, it’s for the best. “The June launched combined with the break-through game the team is building gives us the perfect runway to created awareness forThe Sims 3,” he says. Translation: we’re not done with the game yet, and some fancy charts and graphs tell us that we’ll sell the most copies this summer....

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II‘snext significant update, dubbed “There is Only War,” is being released by Relic tomorrow afternoon. Most notably, the patch brings new observer and referee options to improve the spectating experience, a metric ton of tweaks and additions to better balance player vs. player modes, eight all-new maps, and lastly, plenty of bug fixes. This patch was so massive, Relic decided to put out a beta version for public conspumption earlier this month in order to get feedback from theDawn of War IIcommunity....
