It’s once again time for the UK Charts, and onceagaintime to scratch our heads and wonder exactly what went wrong with society. Apparently there are more readers ofOK Magazinethan we thought, as cellulite-obsessed housewives continue to buy up copies ofWii Fitand make it the number one selling title in Britain. TheGodfather IIdebuts at number two, outclassed and overshadowed by Britain’s favorite non-game. In other news,Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Gameshas now somehow crawled its way to number three....

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have just announced their first Nintendo 3DS title.Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhuntersis timed to release on all platforms to tie in with the upcoming film, and the 3DS version will use the system’s 3D capabilities to deliver multi-plane graphics. That’s stereoscopic 3D, folks. There’s more 3D in the line-up, but it’s anaglyphic 3D, on your television set, with those funky glasses, in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game....

Yesterday, Epic Games has revealed that their quest for videogame engine domination is almost complete. The Cary, North Carolina-based company announced that 2K Games has licensed the Unreal Engine 3 technology and tools for two unnanounced games currently in development. “2K had a very positive experience working with Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 since it enables games to perform exceptionally well on both console and PC,” said president of 2K Games, Christoph Hartman....

Final Fantasy Versus XIIIwas announced at E3 in 2006. Today, we bring word that the game’s finally in full development. With this revelation, Square Enix has truly become a parody of itself. In July, it was revealed that the game had not yetentered full production, but producer Yoshinori Kitase has now told fans that his company is giving bothVersusandType-0“100% development.” That they managed to keep thisinsidehalf a decade should probably be admirable at this point....

Trying to playMonacoat PAX, let alone talk to the developer at length, was a practical impossibility if you didn’t have a lot of time on your hands. The small booth housing Andy Schatz’s IGF-winning title and Chris Hecker’sSpy Partywas overrun for the entire show. Gamers flooded the area in droves to get in on some of the four-player crime caper gameplay. Thankfully, at the smaller and more intimate Fantastic Arcade event in Austin, TX, I was able to spend plenty of quality hands-on time with the game that had so many people buzzing....
