According to Albert Penello, marketing director for Xbox,UNO, a card game deemed “the devil’s work” by my loving grandmother, is the first XBLA game to go platinum. Most people will cry foul, thinking a more “deserving” game should have achieved this milestone, but I have to defend the addictive little distraction. I love me someUNO, I’m not ashamed. So what if I like dropping a hardcore “Rev” (that’s what us streetUNOplayers call a reverse card) on some unsuspecting player?...

We have touched the Nintendo 3DS and piracy before, but even some of our own staff members here at Destructoid were surprised when they heard what could happen to their shiny new glasses-free 3D game system in recent tips, so we thought we might cover it as its own news item. While all out confirmation that Valve is starting to really develop for the PS3 hasn’t come down the line yet, we’veheard enoughfrom people at the company to know that it is. At some point we’re going to see a Valve game that is fully developed by Valve on the PS3. It is going to happen and it looks like they’re taking it seriously as well. A few years back they went out and grabbed some of the top employees from Naughty Dog’s development team, and we all know how well Naughty Dog does PS3....

Who knew Bill, Jan, and son were monsters of the Cupertino touch board? In this latest little trailer put out by thePlants vs. Zombies HDcrew, the crew shows us that it’s possible to play the game withelevenfingers. The video is cute and short, and we totally get the joke, but we’re simply astounded by the amount of multi-touching going on. We’re pointing this out because we’ve realized that we’re playing this iPad version of the game like dinosaurs, pecking at the board like our finger was a virtual mouse cursor....

WiiWaa. More like Wii Whaaaaat? WiiWTF is closer to my reaction after seeing this commercial. WiiWaa is a Wii game that uses a strange plush creature as a controller.We saw a version of this product before, but I guess the video was pulled. Too kinky? I think the issue was that you originally had to stuff the Wii Remote up the character’s ass. As you’ll see in this new video, a Wii Remote is stuffed down his throat to playWiiWaa....

I had my first encounter withWolf Kingat their booth atE For Alllast month and was immediately addicted to the concept – the left side of the keyboard is actually built specifically with PC gaming in mind, especially for FPS titles. Normally, this would have had a low impact on me as I don’t play a lot of FPS titles. However, sinceBioShockhad just been released for PC, I was hot to play it as comfortably as possible....

Call of Duty: World at War‘s “Map Pack 2” was extremely popular with the console crowd. So popular, in fact, that the premium $10 add-on was downloaded more thanone million timesin its debut week alone. In tomorrow’s patch for the PC version of the game, Treyarch is graciously including the very same DLC for free. The actual patch itself brings a number of new things, including: mod-related improvements, letting co-op hosts kick players from their lobby, better spawns for dogs in multiplayer, and yes, fixes for some errors....

Thelatest figures showthat the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 by more than two to one in Japan last week. The AMW figures show that 28,116 Xbox 360s were sold compared to 10,705 PlayStation 3s, while Media Create has the numbers at 24,962 to 9,673. Of course, the Wii outsold them both, but at this point that’s like saying the iPod outsold all other MP3 players. They’re both probably selling to the same types of people, too....

Yesterday we discussedthe Black Friday dealsplanned for the Xbox Live Marketplace. In case you did not notice, these Thanksgiving deals are US-only, just like most good stuff. According to Microsoft’s Major Nelson, however, extending these discounts to other regionsjust isn’t possible. Why? A few months ago, I went on an all-out Game Boy binge, playing and replaying essentially everything worth touching. Those old games hold up shockingly well, and for all the 8- and 16-bit love shown in the independent scene, not enough current games attempt to recapture the essence of the Game Boy.
