Sony is saying that’s a 76% increase over the previous year, no doubt partly in fact due to the introduction of the slim PS3 model, along with the console’s price drop....

Destructoid interview: UGO’s Michael McCracken and 1UP’s Sam Kennedy

The UGO acquisition of 1UP throttled the gaming community. The acquisition signaled the end ofElectronic Gaming Monthly, the leading videogame magazine. We celebrated the magazine’s rich and influential history on our own main page the day we found out that it had been cancelled. More important than any magazine, were the gifted people that lost their jobs that day. It was the sad, bile-building reality of the deal brokered between the two publishers....

Destructoid review: A Kingdom for Keflings

It is the first videogame designed from the ground up to work with the New Xbox Experience’s avatars, and as such, I was expecting it to be total rubbish. You’d imagine that a game designed around one central gimmick — especially something as twee as avatars — would be shallow, silly and not very much fun. Well, two out of three isn’t bad. A Kingdom for Keflingsmight surprise you if you give it a whirl....

Destructoid review: The Dark Spire

If you were born in the eighties (or did your retro homework), you may have have fond memories of a little Commodore 64 game by the name ofWizardry. The game became famous for spearheading the dungeon-crawler genre (although the firstrealdungeon crawler wasPedit5, back in 1974) thanks to its dark atmosphere and brutal difficulty....

Disgaea 4 trailer is outrageous, ridiculous and amazing

“Take a dump on the face of common sense.” Seriously, that’s a line stated in theDisgaea 4trailer here. This is just crazy and only a company like NIS would be able to pull off this type of insanity. As for the game itself, there’s a lot you may do. The six-minute trailer covers the basics, such as the weapons system, how you’ll be grinding, how you can battle, steal your friend’s characters over the online battles to much more....
