Happy birthday wishes to Destructoid from DtoidUK!

Destructoid is finally turning four-years-old and not only do I get to celebrate that, but this time I am also celebrating my third year with Destructoid. When I joined this site, I don’t think I ever really understood the unbelievable impact it would have on me or anyone else. Destructoid has helped so many of us find friends, have shoulders to cry on, people to celebrate with and there’s even been the occasional romance....

Have a PS3 Brink patch to go with your PSN restoration

Splash Damage has celebrated the return of the PlayStation Network by releasing a lovely patch for your copy ofBrink. I’m sure all thirty PS3Brinkplayers will be thrilled with the news. The fix is, essentially, the same as the one the Xbox 360 received. Chiefly, it forces teams to only have four human players per side, unless they choose the new “Big Teams” option. Splash Damage said it will “closely monitor” the performance of the game on the PlayStation Network....

Indie Nation #7: Black Shades

Onthis week’s Podtoid, we discussed how much escort missions suck. You know what I’m talking about; when a game suddenly puts a blind, half-retarded friendly NPC in your care and forces you to protect them at all costs while they do seemingly everything in their power to get themselves killed. More often than not, these sorts of missions are unnecessary, lazy, and totally frustrating. That’s why this week’s Indie Nation game is made up of nothingbutescort missions....

Interview: Titmouse Games is a bunch of psychopaths

You’re likely familiar with Titmouse Animation’s work. It’s the folks that bring Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse to life, and the slick animated cut-scenes in many of Activision’sGuitar Herotitles. Its slogan? “We make cartoons.” But now that it’s getting into the realm of videogames as the newly-formed Titmouse Games, it have a new slogan, written boldly on the back of the grey t-shirt they handed me: “We make cool shit.” Or at least that’s the plan....

Is Marvel teasing a new Punisher videogame?

Oh, Marvel you dirty tease! On its official blog,Marvel Interactive has posteda single piece of artwork, depicting a number of bodies, many of which wearing The Punisher’s trademark skull. The easy conclusion to jump to is that Marvel Interactive are set to reveal a new game based in The Punisher universe. A new film,Punisher: War Zoneis set to land in theaters this December, and it would be rather clever to ride the film hype up and through the film’s home video release....

Just Cause 2 gives you the freedom to cause chaos

You might want to pick up the PS3 version ofJust Cause 2when it comes out on March 23rd — it’s the only one that includes anoption to recordyour destructive deeds for YouTube uploading....

LucasArts classics (probably) coming to the App Store

A few weeks agoSecret of Monkey Island: Special Editionproducer Craig Derricktold Destructoid about his first project at LucasArts. When he joined, the studio was looking to port classic adventure titles to new platforms, including the iPod. The project was abandoned because of lackluster App Store sales and a company shift towards new IP. However, it appears as though that project is back on track. In a conversation withJoystiq, LucasArts CEO (and adventure game enthusiast) Darrel Rodriguez subtly confirmed that classic titles are coming to Apple’s downloadable platform....
