Footage of Irrational’s canned zombie apocalypse game

Last week, Irrational Games opened up their vault of secrets to show everyoneDivision 9, a canceled zombie shooter with heavily-borrowed elements from theSWATseries. As hilariously fun as it sounds to take on zombies as a SWAT team, there were some legitimately neat ideas to be found — your allies could become infected, for instance. Then-publisher Vivendi dug the idea forDivision 9, so what went wrong? Irrational was acquired by Take-Two, which was all it took to prevent the concept from coming to fruition....

If you pre-order Kaos Studios’Homefrontfor the streaming service, they’re throwing in a full PlayPass forMetro 2033and offeringthe MicroConsolefor just the cost of shipping and taxes. Ordinarily, the console goes for $99. Slick deal, based on what I’ve experienced with OnLive and played ofHomefront. This version of the game is actually releasing right alongside its brethren on March 15, so it’s not like they’re making you wait an extra month or anything sketchy....

So, when you see reviews that give it a 10, don’t automatically think that it is perfect, because it does have some minor issues. One such issue is the multiplayer....

Gungho announces Ragnarok Online for DS, among other things

From what I gather fromthispoorly translated Famitsu article,Gungho Online Entertainmentrecently held a business meeting in Tokyo, wherein they announced 3 new games coming to Nintendo’s dual-screen über-handheld. The most important of these announcements, in my humble opinion, is that a certain spritely, Korean MMO darling will make its way to the DS sometime next year. If you were thinkingMaple Story, thenI’m glad to disappoint. Details are unbearably scant aboutRagnarok Online DS, with absolutely mention of plot details or WiFi capabilities....

Half-Minute Hero making your PSP more awesome in October

With the demo for Marvelous Entertainment’sHalf-Minute Herostorming the PlayStation Store today, it’s been revealed that the pint-sized RPG will becoming out in full forcethis October. I gave the demo a go today and was quite pleased indeed with what I saw. Cramming an entire RPG into thirty seconds is a stroke of genius and almost serves to point out just how absurd the genre is. Trying to squeeze all your tasks into such a strict time limit and learn when to reverse time also adds a terrific puzzle element....

Hands-on: MotorStorm: Apocalypse

When I first sawMotorStorm: Pacific Rifta couple years ago, I rolled my eyes. At a glance, it looked like one of those super-fast racing-inspired games for loud children. While I wasn’t terribly wrong with that assessment, it quickly became one of my favorite racing games. Last week, I got to playMotorStorm: Apocalypse. I’d seen the trailer a while back, and I was pretty impressed with the idea of racing monster trucks through a post-apocalyptic wasteland....
