Over the Christmas holiday, some people went to pretty desperate measures to acquire Nintendo’s coveted Wii. One local woman offered to lease my used Nintendo Wii until she could nab one for herself. I wondered “who would do that?” and politely declined. I wonder if this same woman would be crazy/desperate enough to give into the predatory rent-to-own schemes. Fortunately, the long awaited HD installment of Sony’sApe Escapeseries has been confirmed for a 2010 release. Hooray! The game has been confirmed by Sony for a Q2-Q4 release in Japan. Hopefully the West can get it soon, as the franchise has its definite fans and a full-on sequel has been anticipated for many years. The game was first announced at 2009’s Tokyo Game Show and was confirmed to support Move, but very little else has been revealed....

In atweetby former studio director Nick Baynes, we learned that after today the development company would close its doors for good. This story is not all sadness, however, as two new companies have already sprung up, started by former Black Rock Studios employees. ShortRound and RoundCube Entertainment are continuing on where Black Rock started and I wish both teams the best of luck....
