PC gamers, fire up your copy ofBorderlandsagain. Gearbox Software has issued a game update, version 1.3.1, which is available now. The update includes Steam Achievement support, adding 70 achievements that you may, uh, achieve. 42 of them are retroactively unlockable as soon as you load up a saved game; an additional 12 can be picked up by fast traveling to zones you’ve unlocked, or by earning an action-skill kill. Additionally, support for Logitech LCD screens on the G13/G15/G19 keyboards has been added....

I’m going to buyBreath of Death VIIon Xbox Live Indie Games as soon as I finish writing this post. I may never actually play it, but I appreciate this trailer for the game enough that I’m willing to part with a dollar. This is every quest ever, except undead. Brilliant. Even if this is like one of those movies where all the best bits are put into the trailer, they’ve totally earned my money with this....

Electronic Arts has not sent me a copy ofBrütal Legend, but would still like me to help promote their game for them. An interview with Capcom and Level-5 CEOs Keiji Inafune and Akihiro Hino with the business siteDiamond Onlinehas revealed that the two companies are working together in some way. Rumors about the pairing had been circulating in Japan, and Inafune seemed happy enough to confirm the story: This rumor is true. Twisted Pixel found itself at the center of a shitstorm earlier this week, when it called out Capcom Mobile foressentially copying‘Splosion Man. The publisher had putMaXplosionon the iPhone, which mimicked thepopular XBLA titleto practically scummy levels. Capcom has finally responded, and while it didn’t exactly confess, itdidsay it was “saddened” by the situation, and attempted to argue that the copying did not come as a result of a meeting in which Capcom turned down the opportunity to publish‘Splosion Man....

Chrono Triggeris one of those games that will live forever, and I’m glad. It’s such a great game that we’ll be telling grandkids about it. It hasn’t been that long since we first enjoyed the Super Nintendo RPG from Square, but it’s now being spread to other devices. Square Enix Japan has confirmed a PlayStation Network Game Archives version ofChrono Trigger. It will be the PlayStation version of the game, of course....

Square Enix haslaunched a teaser sitethat suggestsChrono Triggerwill come to mobile phones next year. Imaginatively calledChrono Trigger Mobile, there’s nothing else to go on but a simply logo, but that’s very exciting for those phone users who haven’t worked out how to emulate. Chrono Triggeris one of the most beloved Japanese roleplaying games of all time, and you’d be hard pressed to find a Square Enix fan who doesn’t adore it....

Not content to murder literature withDante’s Inferno, EA’s Visceral Studios will soon be raping history with a game based on London’s notorious Jack the Ripper. At least, that’s what theLA Timesclaims. According to the report, Visceral is developing the game while also working onDante’s InfernoandDead Space 2. Funnily enough, theLA Timesreport is months old, but nobody actually noticed it. Whathasbeen noticed, however, is atrademark filingfor a game called, simply,The Ripper. Outside of that, all that’s known is that it’ll involve the 19th century serial killer....

Dark Horse Comics will be putting out a 304-page comic book featuring a selection of “Steam-powered” stories this November.Left 4 Dead‘sThe Sacrifice, apreviously published online comic, will headline the book, and it’ll be joined by stories from Team Fortress 2 and Portal. Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and Other Steam-Powered Storieswill sell for $29.99 from November 16. I have a feeling I may need to pick that up myself.
