Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Storyhas been out for a couple weeks, but people are still talking about it. I’ve been playing it every night ever since I picked it up, and it’s been a pretty fantastic experience. It also, unsurprisingly, got really solid reviews. While the comments in these reviews were MUCH tamer than your typical 360/PS3 fanboy-infested review, there was still a bit of ridiculousness. So, with that said, today we’re going to look at the often ignored, much less intense, world of handheld fanboys....

Nintendo 3DS early adopters, we’re in the home stretch here! Retailer Best Buy has begun stocking pre-paid credit cards for the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS eShop! The first image, posted onReddit, shows a near-blinding shiny red card that reads “FOR USE ONLY AFTER Nintendo eShop IS AVAILABLE.” Which should be totally soon, because these cards are at retail and Nintendo totally said it’s coming in May. Wait,what’s that again? Oh. Okay....

33-year-old Jason Montes, a former games journalist with over a decade of involvement in the industry, hasbeen found dead, apparently through suicide, and is heavily suspected of murdering his wife. Montes allegedly called his friend before he was discovered, confessing that he had shot his wife, 25-year-old Serena Montes, and planned to shoot himself. The gun belonged to Jason’s father. Montes’ career started in the mid-nineties with him joining Ultra Game Players, published by Imagine Media....

FortressCraftis the first Xbox Live Indie Game to break $1 million in sales, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the last. Unless, of course,FortressCraft Chapter 2ever comes out. ProjectorGames was able to recognize a need of the market — in this case, Xbox 360 players wanting a certain block-centric experience readily available in many forms on PC — and capitalize on it. Nothing wrong with that. Although I will say it doesn’t interest me personally....

It’s safe to say that Epic’sthird title updateforGears of War 2is well on its way to hitting the planned March 24 release date. This afternoon, aJoystiqreader spotted a full listing of the unreleased content’s Achievements on Microsoft’s Xbox Web site. The majority of the ‘Cheevos reward players for reaching multiplayer rank benchmarks — the notable addition of the title update. The catch is that players will have to purchase the ‘Snowblind’ map pack in order to be rewarded for their multiplayerbadassery....

We actually have no idea whatDeath Driveis other than the scarce facts listed onGameFly. Those facts are that it is published by Activision, it’s for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and it is a racing game. It also has a release date of July 12, 2025. So what could this game be? I doubt it has anything to do with thisrandom mobile gameI found via Google. So if we jump past the obviousDeath Racestyle game we can look into the depths of my gaming imagination....

To celebrate Opening Day for Major League Baseball, GameStop is offering the PC download version ofMLB 2K10for a ridiculously low $3 price tag. How important that is to you is directly proportional to your proximity to Samit Sarkar. Really, three dollars is a reasonable price for just about any game, let alone one that just came out. And it’s compatible with the Xbox 360 controller if you want something closer to the console experience....

I’d already gotten my hands on the standard team deathmatch mode for Monolith’sGotham City Impostorsearlier this year. It’s Bat on Joker action, with Dark Knight and Clown Prince knock-offs trying to take each other out with an assortment of standard guns and wacky gadgets. At PAX this year, Monolith has revealed a brand new mode, “Fumigation.” Basically your standard control point or domination game type, Fumigation has players fighting over three “Gas Blasters....

Official judges from Guinness were there to do what they do best, and believe it or not, 2 records were actually smashed. The games? None other thanTapperandMs. Pac-Man. Michael Przybocki took home the record for fastest time to beat five boards onTapperwith a time of 1’20″43, while Daniel Dujinc beat five boards onMs....

Jim previouslypreviewed the game, coming away enthusiastic to see how the finished product will handle. I’ll always have a soft spot for first-person shooters that lean more toward what was available during the birth of the genre. Looks like this is worth the download, if you do too.

This one’s a little complicated, so bear with me. A group of former shareholders in Harmonix, including founders and many of the company’s early investors have filed a lawsuit against the developer’s parent company Viacom. It all stems from the media conglomerate’s acquisition of Harmonix back in 2006. According to Gamasutra, who has a copy of the complaint, Viacom purchased theRock Banddeveloper for 175 million dollars plus an earn-out bonus. That last bit is where things get sticky....
