Shigeru Miyamoto, the executive producer of just about everything at Nintendo, has just announced a series ofLegend of Zelda: Skyward Swordconcerts that will occur at various regions around the world this fall. For a series with the musical history ofZelda, this should be pretty mind-blowing. More details about the exact dates and locations of these concerts will be available soon.

To be honest, I found it strangely disturbing (I played it right around the time of the Virginia Tech shootings, so most of the bonus news I unlocked was very negative, to say the least), but I respected the site for trying something different....

Celebrating today’s 25th anniversary ofSuper Mario Bros., Nintendo has released the first images ofSuper Mario Collectionfor Wii. A reproduction of the Super FamicomSuper Mario Collection(released in the US asSuper Mario All-Stars), this collector’s box only available in Japan comes with a booklet featuring never-before-seen artwork from the series and a soundtrack CD and releases October 21st. It’s hard for me to get excited about a thing which I never expect to get when it’s really something I already bought over a decade ago....
Electronic Arts isn’t doing very well at the moment, and Electronic Arts would have you believe that’s all the economy’s fault. However, former EVP Mitch Lasky has a more damning reason for EA’s failings — it’s the fact that Electronic Arts has totally dropped the ball. “While Activision was setting sales records withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, EA had no major hits,” writes Lasky, “although, in fairness theCOD:MW2revenue was probably just filling in a sinkhole at Activision created by a music game business that has fallen off a cliff....

Pandora Waris a game in which people want to attack your temple because they are evil for some reason. You are God or something and can use magic spells, as well as hired mercenaries, to defend the temple and drive back the attack. In between attacks, you can upgrade your magic, improve your mana, strengthen your soldiers and hire more units. It’s a pretty decent wave-based defense game although the balance between defense and strength can be pretty damn tight and unforgiving....

Not much has been seen ofThe Legend of Zelda: Spirit Trackssince it was announced eighty ten billion thousand years ago. All we knew was that it involved a train. We still don’t knowmuchmore than that, but have some screenshots and a video anyway. I was never really enthused withPhanton Hourglass, due to the fact that the game tried to make the touch-screen controls do too much. It was great in theory, but a game that relies too much on the stylus can become confused and muddled....
SCEJ has a sort of special demo for your web browser that may give you a feel for what kind of thinking and game play you can expect with Echochrome II. In this game you’ll use the PlayStation Move to move and adjust shadow to solve puzzles. Your mind will have to work in 3D to figure out what you’ll need to do next. Sometimes you’ll even need to create a shadow puppet by manipulating a light source....
