Mario, Sonic and all their respective friends and enemies are back again in the mini-game collection based on the Olympic Games. There will be around 30 new events in the package plus some returning events fromMario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Sega showed off three new Olympic events which were cannoning, badminton and show jumping. Yes, it is pretty ridiculous watching Bowser race around on a horse. As for the dream events, only dream discus and dream long jump were playable and both were pretty fun....

The blood, sweat, and tears of Harmonix’s Rock Band ‘Zine has hit people’s email inboxes, and has revealed next week’s downloadable content — Megadeth’sRust in Peace. The entire track listing for the 1990 classic metal record is as follows No word on pricing, but it’s a safe bet to say it won’t be priced any higher (or any lower) than previous DLC selections. And for the record, Megadeth’s guitar/vocalist Dave Mustaine has always reminded me of a lion....

It’s really too bad that this trailer, outlining a stunning array of obscene activities inSaints Row 2, was so poorly executed. You’d think with a combination like stealing a sanitation truck to hose pedestrians with raw sewage, seriously injuring your friends to collect insurance money, and dressing up like a cop to rob a liquor store (among others) that you’d have a guaranteed ace.

Sanctumis a solid game, and one I found to be worth the asking price. The tower-defense-meets-shooter hybrid is getting another map next week as a free download, which should be great news for those longing for more content. Since there aren’t very many levels in place already, that should describe most of us. This downloadable content, which will feature more than the aforementioned map — it’s currently unclear what, exactly, that “more” entails — is launching alongside a demo ofSanctum....

E3 08 is so close, yet so far away. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am having an incredibly tough time sitting still from all the excitement and anticipation, and I’m not evenatE3. Usually the joke or viral ad campaigns for games are pretty darn lame. There have been a fewnotable exceptions, but for the most part the ads fall flat on their face. Welcome to the next exception. These ads forShaun White Skateboardingare pretty darn funny, and show off what will hopefully separate the game from the rest of the pack. I’ve literally never been excited for a skateboarding game, and I don’t think what I’m feeling towardsShaun White Skateboardingcould be classified as excitement, but with its fresh take on the genre I am at least not as apathetic to it as other franchises out there....
