Hands on with Sine Mora

Grasshopper Manufacture has been a busy little studio of late. Hot off the heels ofShadows of the Damned, it hasLollipop Chainsawin the works for Warner Brothers, and has teamed up with Digital Reality on not one, but two downloadable titles —Black Knight SwordandSine Mora. Sine Morais a sidescrolling arcade shooter with a strong old school sensibility and just enough quirkiness to let you know that Grasshopper’s involved. It’s also pretty damn fun....

Hands-on: Hard Corps: Uprising

When we last sawHard Corps: Uprisingat Comic-Con, our Dale North came away quite impressed with the flashy sidescrolling shooter from Arc System Works and Konami. After all, the stunning 2D animation makes this title practically look likeBlazBlue: The Shooter, which is a very good thing. The crazy thing is this is still a directContragame, albeit with a massive aesthetic redesign. Am I for it? Oh damn skippy, I’m all for mixing up the norms, asHard Corps: Uprisingis one hot take on the franchise....

Hands-on: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (PS3 and Xbox 360)

At an Activision preview event last week, we got to spend some quality time withSpider-Man: Web of Shadowsfor the PS3 and Xbox 360. And yes, controlling the aerial combat you’ve been seeing in videos is just as fun as it looks. Look, the real Spider-Man isn’t hindered by programming and processing and code. If he wants to go somewhere, he jumps out of a window and shoots a web. He simply flings himself into the air and swings to where he wants to go....

Harvest Moon comes to the iPhone with Frantic Farming

Natsumehave apparently decided to join the iPhone gold rush by announcing their first iPhone game,Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming. The game boasts both a Mission and Score Attack mode and appears to challenge the player to create chains of veggies to score combo for points. It looks simple but cute, and I’ve always been a fan of the Harvest Moon universe, so I can see myself picking this one up for my time wasting needs....

Have some more screens/art for Pandora’s Tower

Pandora’s Towerhas a few Wii owners on staff feeling hot under the collar, even ahead of any Western confirmation. Of course, we’re all likely leading ourselves toward anotherLast Storysituation, but we can’t help it — we like videogames too much! The screens are stupidly small — something of a running theme with this game’s assets — but they show off yet another Japanese Wii game that looks really good. I really hope Nintendo gets these games out to the West sometime this year — there’s been a horrible Wii drought that these titles would certainly fix....

Indie Nation #26: Urban Dead

I was going to retract my statement fromlast weekand proclaim thatthis, is, in fact, my second favorite indie zombie game ever, but that’s kinda dumb: rating your favorite indie zombie games is like trying to pick favorites amongst your children. Still, though, if Iweremaking a list of my favorite zindie games,Urban Deadwould still be very, very near the top of that list. It’s a free, sorta-text-based zombie MMO that isnowherenear as boring as the phrase “free, sorta-text-based zombie MMO” might initially lead you on to believe....
