Developis reporting that the Japanese development teams for Square Enix and Koei will not be attending this year’s E3… due to swine flu fears. Accordingly, this will specifically impact theKingdom Heartspresence, with its development teams confirmed to not be attending the event. Koei has confirmed that a number of its staff will not be traveling to the Los Angeles show as well, which will affect, well… something aboutDynasty Warriorsgames, I’m sure....

Capcom has announced onCapcom Unitythat work has stopped on the planned adaptation of classic board gameTalismanfor PC and XBLA. Citing an early developmental issue as the crux of their problem, they considered farming the project out to another developer before abandoning it completely. I’ve never playedTalisman, which appears to be a competitive game with RPG elements, but I’m certainly intrigued by what I’ve read about it. It is disappointing to hear that the title won’t be making its way to the digital space anytime soon, if for no other reason than I like board games on XBLA....

College Humor has been on a roll lately with all of their videogame shorts. The latest one shows us just who to hate for all the dick moves in Tetris. Seriously. You got the perfect setup going, praying for that line piece and it doesn’t show up until you have to use an L block because you’ve given up all hope.

The Monkey King: The Legend Begins is a new ape-based shmup coming to Nintendo’s Wii. Billed as an updated classic, I must admit that I’ve not heard of this one before, although the sight of a chimp on a cloud reminds me of the awesome TV showMonkeyand the old ChineseJourney to the Westbook it was based on. Those Chinese, they do love their primates riding airborne water gas. As you can see, it appears to be your typical side scrolling shooter gameplay in cuter, more stylistic clothes....
