Tony Hawk: Ride board could be used for Silver Surfer game

Robomodo president Josh Tsui said some interesting things about potential applications for the skateboard controller his company made for the upcomingTony Hawk: Ride. According to a post over atKotaku, Tsui made comments about the typical sorts of games we’re all expecting, snowboarding and surfing, before offering up something a little juicier: Silver Surfer and Hobgoblin. This is not anything resembling confirmation that titles such as these are in development, but the potential is exciting....

Two new Devil Survivor 2 videos show gameplay, art

I get a bit of a ‘too soon’ vibe when watching the above newly released trailer for upcoming Atlus RPGDevil Survivor 2. It shows Japan ripped apart and looks like…well, a natural disaster. I’ll let it slide this time because the game looksgood. I loved the firstDevil Survivor and I’m glad to see that the franchise will continue. I’m also glad to see that a lot of work went into the story and the presentation....

Ubisoft: No Assassin’s Creed likely for 2011

No doubt, we were all a bit shocked when Ubisoft announcedAssassin’s Creed: Brotherhoodfor a 2010 release. A follow-up toAssassin’s Creed 2, released less than a year ago, from what we’ve seen, the game is more than just a cash in. Of course, to make this happen, Ubisoft has a handful of studios working on the title globally. But will it do it again for anotherAssassin’s Creedtitle next year? Probably not....

Ubisoft’s Beowulf gets all orchestral

When it was first announced, the idea of a game based off ofBeowulffightened me a bit. Once I saw the trailer for the film, which appears to be a gorgeous pseudo-CGI affair starring a near-naked Angelina Jolie and a shirtless Crispin Glover, I knew that things would be OK. Ubisoft will be releasing the “action combat” game alongside the films release, and have announced today that Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco would be composing the game’s score....

Vote in Backlog Series 12: Go West, young man!

If my calculations are correct, we should finish another game on Backlog tonight, which means that it’s time for you to pick out the next one we play. It has been brought to my attention that the majority of the games we’ve played on Backlog to date have been Japanese titles. So, just to verify that we’re all having a well-rounded diet, I’ve decided that the twelfth series of Backlog will consist entirely of games developed by Western studios....

Warner Bros launch I Am Legend metagame inside Second Life: So, vampire furries?

Here’s the situation: Warner Bros. have recently createda filmwith Will “Childsafe Negro” Smith based on the 1954 Richard Matheson novelI Am Legend. His novel relates a story of a world in which humanity has been all but wiped out, and the last man alive has to deal with the threat of insanity, isolation, and deadly, deadly vampires. Accordingly the Will “Fresh Prince of Wonderbread” Smith film will explore these same themes only transplanting our hero from Los Angeles to New York City — but knowing Hollywood we’re rather fortunate they haven’t changed the vampires into cyborgs or metaphors for the Republican party....

Where the Wild Things Are trailer is suspiciously decent

So with much hesitation I must say that this trailer for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’sWhere The Wild Thinsg Are: The Video Gamelooks pretty good. Now, that’s suspicious because, as we know, this title started life with the now defunct Brash Entertainment. Looking at Brash’s output, we have:Alvin and the Chipmunks;Jumper: Griffin’s Story;Space Chimps; The Tales of Despereux; and the Wii-exclusiveSix Flags Fun Park, a true coup for Nintendo’s console. All of these games (and you’ll find little argument over this) were either incredibly mediocre or just outrightmiserable....
