Sony is continuing to pour its hopes and dreams into the 3D white elephant, and it actually seemsoffendedthat other people aren’t doing the same. Talking as if it’s stumbled across a gift from God, Sony wants rival Nintendo to stop mocking 3D glasses, and join hands to promote this wonderful new technology that certainly hasn’t been around for the past twenty years. “I have hope that they have a broader perspective with 3D,” says Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida....

Either you’ve experienced thePlayStation Network errorsfor yourself, or you’ve heard about them by now. It’s the talk of the Internet, and with a little luck, it won’t be for much longer. Sony has an update on the situation, which basically offers two pieces of info: a fix is expected to hit within 24 hours, and anyone with a non-Slim console should leave their system turned off until then. EA brought with them a playable demo ofSSXto PAX and Samit Sarkar and Tara Long were there to get their hands-on time with it. Samit even explains that “sports” are played with “balls and sticks.” That’s news to me. If I were to have my way I would want this reboot to just be an HD version ofSSX Tricky....

Well, here’s something you don’t usually see — a refund on Steam. Apparently, Ubisoft has been unable to deny that the PC port ofFrom Dustis absolutely atrocious and, not long after revealing that it’ll be patching out the horrible DRM, it’s start letting customers know they can get their money back. “Ubisoft has just announced that they are working on a patch that will eliminate the need for any online authentication forFrom Dust....

Crossover, a free game that masterfully adds famed NES heroes toSuper Mario Bros.Now, he’s just come out with the latest version, which introducesNinja Gaiden‘s Ryu as a playable character — are you ready to Friday? There’s actually a lot more to it than that. Most notably, the updated version tackles some of the game’s bugs in addition to adding super helpful tweaks to the preexisting characters....

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remixhas had a short, but sundry, history of late. Capcom released a beta for the game,bundled withCommando 3, but, according to some accounts, it was almost unplayable. When it wasn’t refusing to match players, it was crashing. If a match ever actually got off the ground, it was crippled by Ken’s unblockable shoryuken combos. Capcom originally stated that they weren’t going to patch the beta, but they now seem to be singing a slighty revised tune....

As you can plainly see in the video above, when Steam makes itself available for Mac later this year, it’s going to look a heck of a lot like it currently does in beta form on Windows. The current Steam client is nearlyready to be disownedin favor of the sleek-looking beta version, in case you hadn’t heard yet. None of this should be at all surprising, or even disappointing. If you find yourself saddened by this news — that when Steam comes to Mac, it won’t be visually superior — well, you must be living a ridiculously rad, care-free life....

The curiously named tool is essentially a page that’s a browser within the Wii browser. I took it for a test run and it does pretty much exactly what it advertised. The site has a bevy of bookmarks already set to go, so you’re able to get to tabbing as soon as you load it up. I’ll forgive them for Destructoid not being one of them, although one certain clown shoe wearing Web site is among the list....

“She’s 19.” That was one of the replies to an email I sent about Taylor Swift yesterday from an unnamed co-worker. I won’t go into details about the email in question. I’m not sure if that reply was to say that I’m too old for Taylor. Maybe it was more of a “legal” notice. Let’s just leave it at that. Back to business. It’s almost become cliche how utterly crap video game movies are, and yet because some of you still go see them, they’re forced down our throats almost every year now. Thanks a lot guys. Those of us who aren’t bleeding from the retinas appreciate it. Jerks. Kotaku haswordof afan-made short filmcoming out soon that actually, kinda, maybe looks better than whatever bastardization Hollywood would put the series through. The Jin and Bryan characters look pretty close to their in-game counterparts and I don’t see anyone in a fur suit pretending to be Kuma, so that’s always a step in the right direction!...

Whew… it’s been a while. But I’m back. Sorry for my tardiness, but I’ve had a shitload of things to do. Assignments piling up and the like. But anyway, back to business. If you’re headed to PAX this week, won’t you join me in trying out Telltale’sJurassic Park: The Gamefor the first time? The game will be fully playable, along with two levels never before seen. (Spoiler: I bet there are dinosaurs in them.) Telltale also promises to bringHector the Badge or Carnage Episode 2: Senseless Acts of Justice, along with “super swag.” Not sure what that means, but if it’s dinosaur masks and stuff, count me in....

With The Devil’s Playhouse wrapping up — theSam & Maxfinale “The City that Dares Not Sleep” hits PC and Mac on August 30 (plus PlayStation Network a day later) — and Telltale’s development pipeline full of projects like, oh,Back to the FutureandJurassic Park, I’d say they are pretty deserving of a hug at PAX. We can expect to hearBack to the Futurenews at the convention. As such, they’re bringing along “an actual DeLorean Time Machine....
