Yesterday, Rockstar’s magnum opusGrand Theft Auto IVfor the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 finally hit store shelves. Perhaps you’ve heard a thing or two about it. It’s been the darling of critics, receiving more than a few “perfect” scores. Given that the game is supposed to be good or something, we figured, “What the hell?”, and decided to try the game for ourselves. With the taste of theGrand Theft Auto IVhype still in our mouths, we’ve been spending more than a little time with the game....
While I’m not quite out of the “mixed feelings” phase yet, this clip ofCall of Duty: World At War‘s co-op is a decent starting point.It might be hard to tell from the embed video (click here for high-res), but the new and improvedCall of Duty 4engine is being put to good use. The foliage is looking better, the levels seem to be more expansive, and it’s all so visceral.IfWorld At Wardoesn’t manage to get the same level of critical acclaim thatCoD 4has recieved (I’m willing to bet money it won’t), then I guess there’s always the co-op element to fall back on....
Infinity Ward won itself no friends when it announced that dedicated servers had been scrapped forModern Warfare 2. Nerd rage was radiated, petitions were signed, and boycotts were joined to show Infinity Ward and Activision that they will not be moved on this issue! Now that the game is out for a few days, let’s check and see what theModern Warfare 2boycottersare playing. Hopefully they’ve found all sorts of other games to play to really slap Activision in the face....

Not much new is shown off that we haven’t seen already seen thanks to the DOJO updates. The first commercial mostly focuses on Mario, Pickachu, Kirby and Link. The second commercial (after the jump) shows off random battles between various characters including Ice Climbers and Squirtle who haven’t been shown off in motion yet....
There are a lot of things to like about the 3DS. It’s got a motion sensor, it’s got a camera, and of course, itmakes magic. The ability to take pictures, watch movies, and play games — all in 3D — is a pretty big deal, and is sure to spark the attention of gamers and non-gamers alike. As exciting as that is, it’s the 3DS’s initial game line-up that really blew my mind....
So, this is a little bit weird. Ubisoft is working on a new game in theDriverseries, which is as much of a surprise to me as it probably is to you. But rather than make a lot of pomp and circumstance around it at their E3 press conference (presented by Joel McHale, seriously), they make mention of it in a press release announcing some of the titles we’ll be able to see at their booth....
There’s been a long wait for the latest installment of Valve’s “Meet The…”Team Fortress 2videos, but it was worth it. The German medic’s video was one of the highlights of the series and nowValve have posted some behind-the-scenes info on how the trailer was created, including some video outtakes. One of the most interesting things revealed in the post, is that Valve considered making the “Meet The Medic” video an origin story, consisting of a series of flashbacks whilst the medic addressed the camera....
Ron Carmel, co-creator of the highly successful WiiWare and PC titleWorld of Goo, has made aWarioWare D.I.Y.microgame.Suck Goomight be simplistic (even byWarioWarestandards) but that’s exactly the sort of game I can see myself making. A simple one, I mean, not one where Goo gets sucked into a pipe. That’s just weird. This video was a really good idea. I knew the microgame building tools would have to be simple but I didn’t expect it to be as easy as some of this....
Respawn Entertainment, the new studio being led by Jason West and Vince Zampella of Infinity Ward fame, is creating an EA-published multiplatform game; we knew this already. What we didn’t know — or, some of us didn’t know — is that it’s not going public for quite a while. EA Partners’ David DeMartini, speaking with Eurogamer, has made it all official-like. “This is two guys who really know what they’re doing having to go find a place for the team, buy chairs and desks and furniture, find new technology from the ground up, and pull a team together,” he says....
