Activision has been quite busy recentlyregistering domain names, and all for one brand. I’ll give you one guess what it is, and the hint that it doesn’t have to do with plastic instruments. Yup, theCall of Dutyseries has recently had multiple domain names registered for it and they could hint at where the series is going. It’s been a while since wesaw anythingof the nextDevil May Crygame, known only asDmC. Its reveal was one of the more controversial stories of last year though, with gamers crying foul over Dante’s new look and Ninja Theory’s involvement. Capcom has told fans not to worry, though, and that Ninja Theory isn’t just running rampant over all they hold dear. “The exact same concerns were raised overDead Rising 2being made by Blue Castle games, which were totally ill founded, on what was an excellent game that ‘got’ everything that made the first game so amazing,” said a Capcom stafferon its official forums....

Writing about patches is usually something that gets reserved for big-name, attention-grabbing videogames, but I’m always willing to make an exception to the unwritten rule when we’re talking about a Capybara product. Especially when said product is the excellent PSN puzzlerCritter Crunch. My hope is that providing any extra exposure to this game, no matter how insignificant it might seem, will help generate more interest. Also, Ireallywanted an excuse to re-use this work of art....

Here’s my experience on these sorts of things. You go to an event. There’s all this buzz. Rumors of something going to be announced or launched. Then you go. You liveblog. You bust ass to get there and get a good seat. Then nothing happens. I’ve seen it a million times. E3, GDC, CES, you name it. I fell for it again. Conrad and I are here in the Hilton Casino ballrooms, waiting for Mircosoft to tell us something that they’re probably not going to....

Look, I’m not trying to sell you on a PC MMO that is targeted at younger boys. I’m just saying that there’s content in this game that is cool enough that I’m sure you’ll want to give at least parts of it a spin. I went into a meeting expecting to see a kids game, but I came out wanting my own copy. Lego Universeis a MMO for Lego fans. It’s in alpha now, and will be released on PC in mid 2010....

What’s this? EA Sports is going to change? Fo’ reals? Well, Peter Moore apparently doesn’t want to rest on his laurels, and for that, I hold him in high esteem. We’ve heard before of his big plans forbringing EA Sports to a worldwide audience, but he’s got even more sweeping transformations in mind. He revealed his ideas to Next Generation in alengthy interview, which touched on topics like EA’s famous “It’s In The Game” slogan; merchandising and promotional deals; year-round brand extension; and exclusivity....

Modern Warfare 2is getting some new DLC on March 30 and it’s super overpriced for just five maps! Bonus: Two of the maps are reworked maps from the firstModern Warfare! SCORE! These new maps will be going for 1200 Microsoft Points/$15. I’ve been getting tired of the maps available now so I can’t say I wouldn’t fork over the $15 for the new maps. Unfortunately for Activision and Infinity Ward, my Xbox 360 suffered the Red Ring of Death last week so I can’t get these maps even if I wanted to....

I know, part of me wants to be excited too. However, it seems Variety Entertainment has confirmed thatClock Towerwill be adapted for the screen, but that it will be produced byMarco Weber(Igby Goes Down) and directed byMartin Weisz(The Hills Have Eyes 2). On Sunday, August 30, the grounds at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, will get rocked by theVirgin Mobile FreeFest.
