MySpace may be getting its arse handed to it by the likes of Facebook and Twitter, but the former king of social networks believes it has an ace up its sleeve — it’s going toget into games. Those in charge of the site that popularized annoying sparkly .gifs believes that MySpace will grow into a prominent online gaming platform. “MySpace is and will be more in the future a gaming platform, a space for people to meet and play games,” says News Corp digital boss Jonathan Miller....

Following an outcry earlier this year when it added separate plans for its physical DVD mailing service and streaming, Netflix has completely rebranded the service for the former. Now called Qwikster, apost on the official Netflix blogexplains the changes. If you’re curious, you can go read the statement in full, which starts with an apology about not communicating pricing structure changes properly earlier this year. The service and pricing won’t be changing in any significant ways, it seems....

But a new book by software developer Mark Prensky is rallying to our cause one further step by espousing the many positive side-effects of gaming to the world’s less educated parents. It’s message is summed up succintly in its title:Don’t Bother Me Mom – I’m Learning. In the book Prensky, who develops training software for folks such as IBM, Nokia, and the American Department of Defense, lists the many ways in which he sees gamer kids as having developmental advantages over non-gaming ones, amongst other things covering historical eduction via games such as theCivilizationseries, tactical planning, ethics and morality, and even management skills learned via the running of MMO guilds....

A new video has just came out of Sony Japan, and those same salivating RPG fans may now flip over on their backs and begin to sieze, as this new footage looks incredible....
