Blizzard fans are a dedicated bunch with lightning-fast fingers. With the official launch of WiiWare right around the corner, more and more publishers are coming out of the woodwork to announce software for the platform. The latest is Ubisoft, who have revealed that they will be bringingProtöthea, a 3D top-down vertical scrolling shooter, to the service sometime during its “launch window.” TheProtötheastory involves some overly-complicated tale of an asteroid called “Magno 01” and a political faction called “The Core.” But it’s a freakin’ top down shooter, so no one really cares, do they?...

WhilerumorsofSplinter Cell: Convictioncoming to the PS3 are hardly new to the web, Ubisoft must be commended (or hated) for sticking to their one console guns this time around. Could that single console loyalty be waning now? If what Ubisoft creative director Maxime Béland says is true, the answer is an obvious yes. “We’ll have to see what decisions are made by Ubisoft’s management in the future,” Béland said after being asked byVG247if the series might see other console releases in the future....

In case you had forgotten or missed the memo, Harmonix and MTV Games have released a newRock Band 3trailer today that focuses on the game’s new instrument: keyboards. Yes, the upcoming iteration of the music title will let you tickle the ivories, so to speak. Zombies aren’t an integral part of video games, but dammit, they should be. Sparked bywatchingResident Evil: Extinction, I began to think about enemies in video games. Mostly the run of the mill types: zombies, henchmen, soldiers, etc. There will sometimes be a shift in how these enemies act. Suddenly, they’ll go from being a minor nuisance to being a challenging threat, or after fighting one as a boss, become extremely common and less of a challenge....
