Dead Space 2 Collector’s Edition outed

Dead Space 2hits shelves on January 25, and if you thought you wouldn’t be shelling out extra cash for a fancy special edition, think again. If online retailer Amazon.com’s listing is correct, a special collector’s edition of the game ships with a replica of a Plasma Cutter. See, told you that you’d want this. The retailer outs the contents of the box (yet to be revealed by publisher Electronic Arts), which will contain: an art cell, a code redeemable for downloadable content, a soundtrack CD, and the aforementioned Plasma Cutter replica....

Deadly Premonition listed for European release

One of the sadder things in life is not having playedDeadly Premonition. It’s as if everyone joined an awesome cult that was really cool and you wanted to join, but the area you were in hadn’t released that cult yet. The worst metaphor ever made aside, what I am saying is that it is sad to be in Europe whereDeadly Premonitiondoesn’t even have an official release date. Unofficially, though,HMVhas just popped up with the first non-NTSC region locked release date with we have seen of 17-09-10....

Chris Furniss and the gang fromThe Weekly Geekwere nice enough to let us intotheirhouse this past week, and invited Destructoid Editor-in-Chief Nick Chester to come on their podcast....

E3 08: Hands-on with de Blob

de Blobis de bomb. Yes, I know that “de Blobis de bomb” is neither clever nor funny. I was amusing myself all week saying it and I just had to get it out of my system. Sorry. de Blobis a new Wii platformer coming out in September from THQ and I really hope it ends up being a hit. Sadly, after playing it, I immediately awarded it my “Zack & Wikiaward of E3″: a game with an amazing concept and addictive, creative gameplay that will most likely only reach cult status and not sell well overall....

The above trailer forPhoenix Wright: Ace Attorney:Someone Stole All of Our PunctuationTrials and Tribulationscomes courtesy ofCapcom’s interblag, and even though it’s a glorified Flash game you’re able to almost hear all those would-be McBeals starving themselves in the hopes of landing on top of Harrison Ford’s decrepit wang. No, I don’t know what that has to do withPhoenix Wright, but Indiana Jones is like three hundred years old! E3: Pikmin 3 is officially coming to Wii U

There’s beenso much not-talkout of Nintendo regardingPikmin 3over the last few years, it’s maddening. After hearing nothing at Nintendo’s E3 2011 press conference today, I had all but given up hope. The lack of substantial information has caused many of us to believe the third installment would skip a Wii release and jump to Nintendo’s new console — what wenow know as Wii U. As confirmed tonight during the company’s roundtable session, this will indeed be happening....

EMBARGOED: My time at Pre E3 as a non-judge

I know. What the hell is Pre-E3? Sounds silly, doesn’t it? It’s actually kind of cool: It’s a week-long event where “E3 Judges” go around and see all the hot games that you’ll eventually hear about at E3. They’ll eventually vote on what will be the best games at the show. It’s a honor, and I’m glad that Destructoid is judging. Me? Epic’s Rein: M-rated Wii games are ‘huge financial flops’

It’s been roughly three seconds since there was an “M-rated Wii game” debate on the Internet, so we better get this written quick and plug the gap! Epic’s Mark Rein has been chatting toIndustryGamers, where he reaffirmed Epic’s policy on ignoring the Wii, going so far as to accuse adult-oriented games of being “huge financial flops” on Nintendo’s white box o’ waggle. “We don’t make games for that platform because we don’t see a market for the kinds of games we make — let’s be honest,” claims Rein....
