Attention,bleep: yourprayers(see eighth comment) have been answered. Today, 2K Sports announced that they will be releasingNHL 2K9on the Wii this year. It will be the first officially licensed hockey videogame on the Wii, so all you Wii owners who have been waiting so patiently for this can stop complaining (not that the complaints weren’t warranted, of course). The press release (after the jump) mentions that you’ll be able to “play like the pros using the Wii Remote™ controller as a hockey stick,” and that certainly sounds exciting....

The originalNo More Heroeswill indeed be hitting the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 02, 2025 in Japan. If you’re not aware of Marcus, then you’re lucky. He’s the PSP’s version of Kevin Butler, except unfunny, thoroughly obnoxious, and exists only to let you know what Sony thinks of the PSP’s audience. Batman: Arkham Citywill be getting a visit from Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, otherwise known as The Penguin. That’s according to magazine scans that confirm the aristocratic villain’s presence in Rocksteady’s upcoming game. “The way that Penguin has always been portrayed is as quite an aristocratic, well-spoken gentleman who’s got these twisted delusions of grandeur.” said marketing man Dax Ginn in Australia’sSunday Herald, “So we’ve made him a really horrible, nasty piece of work — but still with the delusion of grandeur....

We already knew that Q Gameshad some high hopesfor the unnamed game currently called Pixeljunk 1-4, and they have been doing some major teasing about the game on theirFacebook page, but we finally have some solid details on what the gameplay will be like (check back later today for our full preview of the title). Not unlike a little Atari game calledLunar Lander, Pixeljunk 1-4 will put you in control of a spaceship which must prowl the darkest depths of caves to rescue lost explorers....

Save and Quithas the long and sordid tale of how we got to this point, but above is your result: a picture of a hand in a glove. Neat. Speculation has the game being revealed at E3 later this year. If this ARG is legit and going strong, it’s likely we’ll hear about it before then, with more solid details coming out of Los Angeles this June....

Microsoft demoedWindows 8at its “Build” developer conference last week, showing off its new GUI and a few dozen features including better support for multiple monitors, a revamped task manager, and significantly less system-resource overhead than Windows 7 or Vista. During the keynote speech, Microsoft announced that a free developer build of Windows 8 would be made available to the public that night. Alex Bout, Josh Derocher, and myself all took the time to install it and run a few benchmarks to see how it compared with Windows 7....
