How to get Gears of War 3’s chicken-firing Cluckshot

Part of what makes thisGears of War 3Easter egg so fun is that it’s a stark contrast to how serious the series takes itself. The other part is thatit’s a gun which fires live, exploding chickens. The Cluckshot, a fowl-centric take on the Boomshot, is a secret weapon that can be obtained in single-player on Insane difficulty. The method itself delves into spoiler territory, so I’ll point you to GameFront’s video walkthrough and say nothing more given how recentGears 3still is....

Indie Nation #18: Everyday Shooter

If you’re one of those “people” who either owns a PS3 or is friends with someone who owns one, then this week’s Indie Nation may be totally useless to you. If, like me and so many others, your first chance to actually playEveryday Shooterarrived a week ago when the game finally appeared on Steam, then you might want to know how badass this game is. As always, I’d normally suggest that you just go get the game and play it without any suggestion or background from me, but given that (A) it costs around $10 on Steam and there’s no demo, and (B) most of the things I’ll be talking about have been thrown around since the game first appeared on the PSN, I think there’ll be less harm than usual in your hitting the jump and reading about what makes this game so awesome....

Indie Nation #22: Gun Mute

Gun Muteis atext adventureshooter. GUN MUTE IS A TEXT ADVENTURE SHOOTER. There isno reasona text adventure shooting game should exist, in today’s world. There’s even less reason that the game, by Pacian, should be so oddly transfixing, so inexplicably exciting, so absurdly fun asGun Muteis. I don’t actually enjoy text adventures in the least, which madeGun Mutesuch a ridiculously pleasant (and ridiculously ridiculous) surprise. Just play it. You can always type “hint” if you ever need help....

Jade from Beyond Good & Evil skin unlocked by completing Prince of Persia

Last week, we ran a silly little article called“Top 5 Ubisoft character skins we’d like to see inPrince of Persia.”In it, I joked that one of them I’d like to see is Jade from Ubisoft’s “cult hit”Beyond Good & Evil. Well, someone must have been listening (or I’m psychically linked to thePrince of Persiateam), because imagine my surprise when I found that completing the game unlocked just that — a Jade skin for the Prince’s magical sidekick, Elika....

Jimpressions: Bulletstorm demo

I’ve waited a long time to tryBulletstormout, so I had the demo on download as soon as I noticed the sucker was available. Now, fresh off of making heads explode and kicking angry green people into electric wires, I feel I’m an adequate position to say one thing: FUUUUUCKIN’ AAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY BRO! Bulletstormis exactly what I thought it would be — crass, immature, senselessly violent, and borderline retarded. That is perfectly okay with me, too....

Just Cause two stats are a little bit crazy

It’s been about six months sinceJust Cause 2landed, but in a game where you can run around an island and do whatever the hell you want with a wide variety of awesome things it’s no wonder people have been playing the heck out of it. If you need some numbers to back that up, Square Enix sent them over to us. There’s some interesting stats here. For instance, “570,329,283m is the combined height of each player’s highest base jump, which is roughly 14 times the circumference of the Earth, or the equivalent of free-falling from the Moon one and a half times....

Leaked God of War Collection footage is annoying, bad

Ready for your first in-motion look at theGod of War Collection? Look no further thanbelowthis bit of text. A clever someone has leaked a bit of trailer footage from theCollection, in the process showing a higher-resolution Kratos killing higher-resolution nasties and baddies in higher-resolution environments. Watcher beware, though: This video is terrible — the music cracks and pops and the camera person has a problem with keeping his hand steady....

Minesweeper Flags is also hitting Xbox LIVE Arcade today

Joining3 on 3 NHL Arcadeon Xbox LIVE Arcade today is none other thanMinesweeper Flags(400 Microsoft Points). I went ahead and downloaded the trial version to see if it was what I expected it to be (a prettier-lookingMinesweeper), but instead something sort of funny happened. First, I tried out the Flags mode, which is essentially competitiveMinesweeper, if you’re able to believe that. I honestly didn’t know what was going on at all, so I decided to try out another mode I’d be more familiar with: Classic....
