New screens and art for de Blob 2: The Underground

de Blob 2is coming to DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3, and it’s looking rather cool. I’ve had the originalde Blobon my “must try” list for roughly eight thousand years. At this rate I may as well wait for this sequel, as I’m guessing there’s no epic narrative that I’ll need the backstory for. In any case, here’s a selection of new screens and character art for you. Anybody play the first one?...

New Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes shots look ridiculous

A fresh batch of screenshots for Capcom’sSengoku Basara: Samurai Heroeshas been released, and the images confirm my theory that all Asian-themed hack n’ slash games need the most absurd character costumes ever created. Just look at the old guy in the header image, with his ludicrous purple fork and fat carrot hat. This is what the noble art of samurai warfare has been turned into. Gotta love it, really, and this undoubtedly camp Wii game is perhaps my most personally anticipated Capcom title of the year....

New skills and emblems coming with MGO ‘SCENE’ expansion

Okay. I’ll admit it. I don’t understand how magazines have found a place as an item inMetal Gear Online. Whenever I sit down to play a rousing multiplayer session of a favorite shooter, I tend to stick to guns and things that explode — the stuff that has the potential to kill an opponent. I get the novelty of a girly magazine, but not its viability. Is there really any sort of satisfaction that comes with watching a character getting distracted by a magazine?...

Ninja Theory: PS3’s 3D capability will be limited

Sony might be loading its hype cannons with all sorts of 3D promises, but at least one developer is skeptical of the PS3’s ability to provide decent three-dimensional visuals. That developer is Ninja Theory, explaining that the PS3 lacks the processing power required to impress our eyes. “The problem is that to do 3D properly you need to render 60 frames per second, per eye. And at least a 720p resolution [per eye],” states co-founder Tameem Antoniades....

Nintendo: No issues with 3DS quality, Amazon sales resume

Despitereports yesterdaythat Amazon.com stopped selling the 3DS due to broken hinges, Nintendo has declared that its hardware has no known issues and that sales have returned to normal. Yesterday, Amazon revealed it was suspending Cosmo Black 3DS sales, but it stated the problem was at its own end. However, a representative later said that customers were complaining of broken hinges, which sounded like a Nintendo hardware issue. “An internal Amazon....

Nintendo’s crap response to no HD for Netflix service

You guys are the master of spin, so I know you’re able to do better that that. It’s great that Netflix is coming to the Wii, but with the system’s max resolution being lower than high-definition, you’ll have to count out those HD movie streams. Or watch them on your PS3 or Xbox 360. Nintendo of America top dog Reggie Fils-Aimé tried his best to put the shine on this one, but he fell short....

Not a joke: ‘Madden curse’ movie in the works

PAX 10: Sonic Colors is still rockin’ awesome

It’s bemusing to think thatSonic 4, the game everybody wanted, is getting upstaged bySonic Colors, a game that continues in the same tradition as games people hated. That is exactly what has happened, though.Sonic Colorsis looking damn good in spite of its 3D leanings, and it’s getting all the attention.
