Another day, another confirmation of an HD-ified trilogy getting released on PlayStation 3. We already heard about theTomb Raiderbundleearlier, but now we’re also getting word that Sam Fisher is next in line for the re-release compilation mania. Ubisoft told IGN thatSplinter Cell,Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, andSplinter Cell: Chaos Theorywill make up this specific bundle, and that it’ll be out in 2011. Other than that, the company wasn’t willing to divulge any more information....

Last night saw my attendance for Destructoid at the Sony PlayStation launch of its Video Download Service in the UK. A very long overdue, Download Service. The service we were shown was pretty much as expected. Accessed online, you have the option to buy or rent, with costs varying depending on the title. It’s also good to know that the store will be updated frequently (so you would never be far behind on the latest releases), and Sony is offering both high definition or standard definition....

Gearbox announcedBorderlandsat a pretty crappy stand at gamescom a couple of years ago, and attributed a lot of the success they’ve had with the title to the response the game received by doing so. This year they planned to repeat that success by showing offBorderlands 2,despite the game being pretty far from release. It looked like sequel is already shaping up rather nicely, with changes where changes are welcome and leaving the core that made the original so much fun intact....

Rise of Nightmaresis a bold undertaking from Sega, but one Microsoft’s Kinect is sorely in need of. Nine months have passed since 360 owners joined the motion control revolution, and outside of a few decent games at launch andChild of Eden, there hasn’t really been much of a compelling reason to get up off the couch and play. I remember when I first sawRise of Nightmaresback at this year’s E3 — it made me laugh and not in a good way....

Of all the PlayStation Move games touted before the peripheral’s launch,Sorcerylooked the most interesting. Stands to reason, then, that it isn’t out and was a total no-show at this year’s E3. In June,God of War: Chains of Olympusdeveloper Ready at Dawn unceremoniouslyshipped back all their PlayStation Portable devkits to Sony, citing that they were “done” with development and ready to look towards a future without the handheld. Recently, Ready Dawn updated their blog and jokingly pointed out that perhaps mailing back all of those development kits was a mistake. Last week two of their PSP titles,DaxterandChains of Olympus, were among the top five PSP games sold on Amazon....

Time for some CEO smack talk, people. That means thinly veiled insults, coated in “respect” and gleaming with backhandedness. The leaders of big companies always try to play nice with these things, like they aren’t extreme rivals who are desperately grabbing for each others’ market share. As of late it seems to be growing in popularity, but what may be the most interesting and unique side of theSMTworld has likely seen the least number of visits. Sticking to the tradition of not being unable to avoid leaks, it appears SCE is rolling out several250 GB PS3 Slim bundlesin Europe at some point this decade. The image in the header (viaFrench Gamers) is the first we’ve seen of these bundles, which apparently, sport a different box color altogether. In case you missed the massive car and logo, this bundle in particular contains a copy ofNeed for Speed: SHIFT, the latest NFS title to hit the market....

I’m down with people reporting on inside information, but leading me on is another thing. According toPlayStationLifestyle, Sony will announce an awesome, jaw-dropping, amazing, and very exclusive title for the PS3 on August 3. Past that, we only have the clues that that game is not a RPG, FPS, or aTwisted Metaltitle. Also, the game is slated for late 2009. That certainly narrows down the list, doesn’t it? So, while we’re waiting with bated breath for this alleged announcement, let’s speculate a little bit....

Today, Rockstar Games hasunveiled the official Web sitefor the highly anticipated Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title,Grand Theft Auto IV. Along with the new site comes a ton of new information, including new screens and videos, which can be found at the site. One thing the site fails to reveal are any details about the game’s multiplayer; the Web site only teases with a link that simply says “Coming Soon.” For those who don’t want to wait, we’ve got you covered....
