Adding tothe Heavy update goodness, we have got another brilliant video from Valve. This time around, it’s “Meet the Sandvich.” The Sandvichis the first unlockable for the Heavy included in today’s update. Each Sandvich you eat heals you by 120 health, and your supply is unlimited. However, the Heavy will be prone to attacks during the four seconds it takes to eat a Sandvich and you cannot bring along your shotgun if you opt to pack the nutritious sack lunch....

It’s been a while since I’ve seen an honest to goodness fighting game rivalry. There was the faux trash talk between theTekken 6andStreet Fighter IVdevs from late last year, but that was all just to promoteStreet Fighter X Tekken. I don’t think I’ve seen fighting game devsreallytalk smack about each other’s game since theEternal Champions/Mortal Kombat II/Street Fighter IIdays. Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but I’m happy to see the genuine return of fighting game developers dogging each others games....

At this point, you probably know everything Bungie and Microsoft want you to know about the upcoming Halo “expansion,”Halo 3: Recon. At behind-closed-doors press meeting at Tokyo Game Show this year, the folks at Bungie were more than happy to talk about the game’s announcement, but unwilling to answer any detailed questions. While Square Enix licenses and puts out many pretty RPGs these days, I personally haven’t made a really strong connection with any of them. This Wednesday the Ohio Supreme Court overturned the death sentence of Clifton White, a man convicted of killing three people. The reason the court overturned the death sentence? During White’s trial he claimed to be mentally retarded, a claim which according to a 2002 U.S. Supreme Court ruling makes a death sentence cruel and unusual punishment. “But how is this at all games related?” you might ask. During White’s original trial his claim of mental retardation (which may or may not be true) was deemed invalid because A) he did not meet the U....

Sony has confirmed that the footage showing a Trophy collection on the screen of a PSP was, in fact, showcasing the remote play feature of the system. It seemed like the more likely explanation for the footage, but even so, it gives me a sad in my heart. “The screen shown on the end of the video showcases the Remote Play function on a PSP,” confirms a Sony rep, “allowing you to take a look at your XMB, Trophies, friends and other content via your PSP....
