Earlier this morning, we posted word thatInfinity Bladewasdropping in price. While looking up Chair’s critically acclaimed iOS game to grab itsiTunes URL, I spotted another, eerily similar game. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring youInfinity Sword! What you’re looking at is yet another shameless iOS rip-off from a developer who clearly has no self-respect and very little in the way of scruples. It’s supposed to be a one-on-one sword battling game, exactly likeInfinity Blade, except it looks like utter shit....

We all want to see solid games that are brave enough to stand apart from the pack do well, but in the case of the stellarValkyria Chronicles, good looks were not enough, selling only 33,000 units in the month it was released. Many gamers have lamented this news, reflecting on how it is that such an excellent title can perform so poorly. Because of sales, the price on the game was cut to $40 … and suddenly, things started to change....

Is there a sequel coming? Is it one of those mobile games we missed? And what the hell kind of crap name is “The After Years” anyway? Yesterday the keen eyes of the staff ofSiliconerafound a trademark for “The After Years” registered by Square Enix on the European Patent and Trademark database. The name reminds us ofFinal Fantasy IV: The After, a Japanese mobile game we gave up hope of ever seeing....

Live from this past weekend’s toy fair in New York City, LEGO has announced a line we certainly wouldn’t have expected: LEGO Prince of Persia. Set to launch in April 2010, the line of toys appears to be based off the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures and Jerrey Bruckheimer film,Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. No details on what we can expect in the line, one can suppose it’ll be blocky version of the film’s stars, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, and Alfred Molina....

A few years ago developer Techland looked like it was about to rock our faces off with three awesome games in the form ofDead Island,Chrome 2andWarhound. None, however, have come out, which might be understandable since the company has been working onCall of Juarez: Bound in Blood, but the fact that news on the games has also disappeared is a bit troubling to those looking forward to them. Dtoid received an email from Aksys games with this image attached. The email said “more details coming soon?” and that’s it. I guess Aksys is asking us if more details are coming on what looks like a some sort of 3D outing for the critically acclaimedBit.Tripseries. Now, the Bit.Trip series officially ended withBit.Trip FLUX, but that doesn’t mean this might not be some sort port (likeBit.Trip RUNNERandBit.Trip BEATgot onSteam), but with 3D enhancements....

Xenobladehas a bunch of new screens in this week’sFamitsu, and it also revealed two boss characters. Unbelievably, they are called Black Face and Brown Face. I literally have no idea what to say to that. Racially charged character names aside, there are plenty of images to gawp at if you’re into this promising title. Nintendo itself has a hand in the development, so the quality ought to be pretty damn high....

We were sent this … I don’t know what it is (besides NSFW). We were told it was a trailer for an upcoming game calledCentaurian the Game. Clearly, it goes far beyond that. The designer, one Simon Peter, says he’s been working on the game for over a year now. I had a peek around atSimon Peter’s website, which is incredibly strange as well. As I type this, I’m hearing an instrumental version of “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood with randomly occurring pan flute....

Jeff Minter — creator of as-often-lauded-as-decried XBLA synaethesia-shooterSpace Giraffe—has announcedhis next project:Gridrunner++, a remake of a remake of a Vic 20 title he created on stone tablets using chisels and kindly, wise-cracking birds. Of course, as per Minter’s usual style, the game will almost certainly feature psychadelic animals, prismatic color schemes and visuals rivalled only by closing one’s eyes and pressing hard on the soft parts of the retina with one’s own thumbs....

PC gamesthat also feature on Steam are apparently being refused by jilting retail chains in the United Kingdom, according to Russian developer 1C. According the studio, “bullying” stores aren’t happy about digital distribution taking all their jobs and women, and are actingmaturelyabout it. 1C’s UK publishing director Darryl Still said that retail chains “Recently sent a command to publishers that if they include Steamworks in their title it will not be stocked....

I think if Nostradamus were still around, he would have used one of these terrible game systems constantly, until his brain went to mush. He would then use his halicunations to predict the future. Current-day seers seeking out this method of prophecy would normally be out of luck, but a crate containing 100 factory-sealed Virtual Boy consoles has been discovered in a warehouse in Dubai....
