Already a hit on Apple’s iDevices, developer Firemint’sFlight Controlwill be making its way to the Wii soon. The developer recently confirmed the title, after the game was rated by the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification. Outside of admitting that yes, they did submit the game for classification (obviously!), Firemint is remaining tight-lipped on the details. “We don’t have any further details to share at this point,” we were told....

First screens of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Now we’re talking my language!Warhammer 40,000: Space Marineis a game I have been waiting a long time to hear about, and THQ has finally started the ball rolling with the first ever official screens. There are only two so far, but considering we’ve heard nothing for years, it’s a considerable step up. It looks like Orks will be the primary antagonists inSpace Marine, at least according to these shots. Plenty of greenskins getting cut up and shot to ribbons, which is okay by me....

Former Wonderswan dev making their first Xbox 360 game

Did you ever buy a Wonderswan? I mean, just for the hell of it? I did. You can find them for less than $20 in Japan. Games are even cheaper. They’re nothing special. Just another non-Nintendo portable that came and went. Developer Qute wasn’t even a big deal on the Wonderswan. Back in the day they made a hobby programming kit called Wonder Witch for the portable. It held development contests on this kit, and two top placing titles,Judgement SilverswordandDicingKnight, were given actual Wonderswan release, saysAndriasang....

Games that time forgot: Claw

Ah, Monolith. The studio that brought us such macabre fare asCondemned: Criminal OriginsandFEAR, but also made those happy-go-luckyNo One Lives Forevergames. The company has always been versatile, and one need only examine their entire game catalogue to truly understand how far the company has come in its relatively short lifespan. Take, for example, this week’s forgotten game. It’s one of Monolith’s older titles, but it’s still one of their best: the game isClaw, and it’s a 2D action side-scroller that follows the adventures of an anthropomorphic cat and his quest for a talisman of immortality....

Grand Theft Auto done with Liberty City: Next stop …

With the release ofGrand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From Liberty City, Rockstarhas declaredthat this is the end for Liberty City, the game’s New York-inspired location. In the manual for the freshly released game, a teaser page bears the message: “Liberty City! It’s Over!” Underneath that message is the phrase: “Next Stop.” The image has a pretend rip in the paper, “revealing” the location underneath it. However, all that’s pictured is a small bit of landscape and the word “seagull,” which gives us no clue whatsoever as to where the next location may be....

Guillermo del Toro’s inSANE is planned as a trilogy

Did you catchthe teaser forinSANE, the new project from THQ and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro? It aired during the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend and didn’t tell us a whole lot that we didn’t already know. The partnership between THQ and del Toro hasn’t exactly been kept a secret or anything so, apart from some tentacles to demonstrate that the game has creepy intentions, the reveal failed to reveal much of anything....

If it seems too good to be true …

If you went to your mailbox one morning and found an Xbox 360 shipped to your home by mistake, would you keep it? What if it strangely contained a note to ship the package to Africa and provided you the stamps to do so, would you send it on, keep it or ship it back? Sure, most of us would want to keep it. I mean how many times does an expensive console just appear on your doorstep for free?...

Indie platformer Limbo making it to XBLA

Perhaps you won’t immediately recognizeLimboby name, but thissmall video clipfrom last year certainly had the memories rushing back to me. There’s a startling lack of information about this up and coming puzzle platformer from Denmark-based Playdead, but I suspect that’ll change soon enough. Next week is GDC, after all, andLimbowas nominated for Technical Excellence as well as Excellence in Visual Art at this year’s Independent Games Festival. Anyway, the big news here is that it’s coming to consoles worldwide this year, with “a summer launch exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade....
