Dream.Build.Play is a competition where semi-pro and indy game developers are asked to create innovative video games for Xbox 360 using XNA Game Studio. This year the four winners got their piece of $75,000 in cash as well as the opportunity for their game to show up on XBLA. Microsoft says that there were over 350 games submitted from 110 countries for this year’s contest. Only four won: If you take the time to watch the gameplay footage (above and below the jump) from all the winners, I’m sure you’ll be impressed....
Capcom and Zazzle have been working together to create some sweet threads. The above three shirt designs are going to be given away as prizes at Comic-Con, giving those of us stuck at home yet another reason to be jealous of all the fun people are having in San Diego this week. There is some good news, however. Capcom says that the shirts are going to be available for a limited time on Zazzle after the show ends this week....
As the feature-set for the impending December 3 Xbox 360 Dashboard Update drips out, we’re finding it more difficult to get amped about the additions and changes. Now Microsoft Japan has revealed some new information on the update, much of which focuses on dashboard menu changes and streamlining the GUI. The dashboard will now feature a “Game Library,” which will replace (but look similar to) the current “Xbox Live Arcade” tab....
There’s a lot of folks excited to get their hands on the next installment of theMotorStormseries. In a post on a PlayStation Blog, a firm release date has been set for the title,MotorStorm Apocalypse, which will see release in Europe on March 16th while North America will have to wait until April 12th. Mushroom Men: The Spore Warsis a game I have not been paying much attention to, but our very own Hamza Aziz insists that it’s pretty good. One certainly can’t fault the art design, and the above video talks about the aesthetics of the rather creepy looking bad guys. Imagine one of those sneaking into your room at night for some secret tickle time. Not fun. Whatisfun, however, is this game, if ourofficial previewof the title is anything to go by....
The citizens of Ninja Town are living out their peaceful lives until Mr. Demon and his Wee Devil army decide to invade. Ol’ Master Ninja along with Wee Ninjas, White Ninjas, Anti-Ninjas, Poo-Ninjas and more must defend the town from wave after wave of Wee Devils.You can see some of the Ninja classes in action in the trailer as well as some of the special attacks that Ol’ Master Ninja can perform....
Hazelooks to be the biggest title out of the bunch this week. I played a good portion of the gameback at PAX last yearand really liked what I experienced. I like the whole Nectar element of the game and that you switch sides halfway in. After all the hype and whatnot thatHazehas gone through, I’m really interested in seeing how well this game does in sales.Another big title this week isWii Fit....
Halloween is right around the corner and a few high profile horrors games are coming out to celebrate to coincide with it.Clive Barker’s Jericho(X360, PS3, PC) is looking to satisfiy my blood thirst this week over all the games out this week.Speaking of which, there is a ton of new games out this week! Especially for the PS3. I’m interested in seeing howEye of Judgmentwill play and I’m hearing nothing but good things forRatchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction....
