Igneous, the remarkably pretty and well-paced student project I highlighteda few months back, is finally complete and can be downloaded for free righthere. To summarize:Igneousis a 3D platformer where you guide a rotund tiki totem through a collapsing volcano. I thought the pre-IGF version was spectacularly intense and satisfying, and my opinion hasn’t changed any in regards to the final version:Igneouswas, and still is, a must-download for anyone who loves platformers and/or chase sequences and/or purdy graphics....

God, I hope so, because that sounds freaking awesome. A Japanese trademark was filed by Sega for something calledZettai Zetsumei!! Kyouryu Jigoku, which could translate into something likeDesperation!! Dinosaur Hell. I haven’t even seen it and I can tell you that it sounds fantastic. A standard Google search (we bloggers call that Journalism) gives me nothing other than a movie calledA Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell, which, again, sounds fantastic....

Topher brought us news about the HD Katamari game yesterday,Katamari Damacy Tribute, and while I was excited then, I’m twice as excited now after seeing the trailer that you can find after the jump. It shows comparison video of previous Katamari titles withTribute, and the difference is pretty remarkable —Tributelooks almost cel-shaded, with a beautiful crispness to the images and what looks like lots of new areas to explore. That’s not all, though — hang around until the end of the video and you’ll get a list of all the artists who are participating in the game’s soundtrack....

Konami stock (and our hearts) took a hit when it wasannounced thatMetal Gear Solid 4’srelease date was pushed backto the Q2 of 2008, and with that news the company reporting the largest stock decline in four years. Now there’s a bit of relief for those who held onto Konami stock with reports that first-half earnings are up. For the first-half of the fiscal year ending in September, Konami is showing a 12 percent increase in sales, a 29 and 23 percent increase in operating and net incomes....

I’m as interested in getting our hands onL.A. Noireas you are, and I’m clamoring for every bit of information. So when Rockstar launched the game’s official site, I stumbled over my own feetentering the URLinto my browser’s address bar. What did I find? Well, not much… yet. What’s available now is “the first of many character dossiers,” this one detailing the coroner Malcolm Carruthers. Just moments ago, I didn’t know the character existed, now I know he was born in 1899, has green eyes, and no hair....

Backbreaker, the long-awaited football game from NaturalMotion, is almost here. Set for release on June 1st, it’s promising a completely physics-based game experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen before in a football videogame. It also has an accessible control scheme that most longtime football gamers won’t be familiar with, so NaturalMotion has put out this tutorial for the running game inBackbreaker. Basically, the right stick will control your “agile” special moves — like juking and hurdling — and once you engage the right trigger, the right stick will perform “aggressive” moves such as stiff-arming and trucking....

LEGOs make everything better. It doesn’t make much sense that putting something into the form of a bunch of blocks would make it better, but the fact stands and it is an undeniable truth. Nintendo would rather you not know anything about Project Cafe. The existence of the console was leaked through various sources a little over a month ago, and eventually Nintendo had to fess up and admit that the project was real. If it weren’t for that, none of us would even know the console exists. As such, developers have been extremely tight-lipped about what they know about Project Cafe. Both on and off the record, I’ve been unable to get anyone I know in the industry to confirm anything about the console....

The Mash Tactics crew are traveling this week, so it falls upon me to keep the lovely people on the Destructoid Justin.tv channel entertained while they’re gone. To that end, Backlog will be airing at 4pm Pacific for the next week. In the event you are unaware, Backlog is my attempt to play through the games in my collection which have sat entirely too long. Long time running London MCM Expo hits this weekend on Saturday 30 and Sunday the 31 (as well as Friday 29th for those with pre-ordered weekend tickets) bringing us sci-fi, cosplay, anime, film and games all under one roof rammed full of sweaty nerds in the London Excel Center at the Docklands. Every year the focus on gaming gets bigger and bigger and less on cosplay drama (though the Cosplay Euro Championships are taking place if it is your thing)....

Ahead ofLonesome Road‘s September 20 release for PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox Live, Bethesda has put out a trailer showcasing theFallout: New Vegasadd-on. For a game that is largely about exploring, they sure do an admirable job at making these things come across as dynamic. The story here is that the original Courier Six — the one who didn’t want anything to do with the Platinum Chip plot — is now at the Divide....
