Here’s a surprise — The Romantics are still an active band. With their last album was released in 2003, it seems their most recent activity will be in court. The Detroit-based band have filed a federal lawsuit against Activision, and are claiming that the cover version of their 1980s hit “What I Like About You” that was featured inGuitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80sis too good. So good, in fact, that it infringes on the band’s rights to its own likeness....
Well, here is something: Developer High Voltage Software has recently filed for trademark of “Immortal Warriors.” High Voltage is a busy developer, with at least three other announced projects in the cards — first-person co-op shooterThe Grinderfor Wii; fighterGladiator A.D.for the Wii; andAnimales de la Muertafor Wii. What I’m suggesting is there’s a pattern here, and it’s likely thatImmortal Warriors,if it appears as a game at all, will be for Nintendo’s console....
Damn, THQ goes all out on Halloween. Well, some of its employees do for the annual Halloween contest. While not strictly gaming related (which is a little odd considering this is a gaming company) it is Halloween today so we thought we would share. Of course the man whobrought this to our attention, THQ employee Ryan Arnold, went as Frank fromDead Rising(you’re able to see him below), but sadly he did not win, claiming that the non-gaming judges didn’t get his costume....

If I had my way, games would return to NES-era pixelated affairs. I mean, my favorite game of this past year wasMega Man 9!
