Seamanis one of those cult classics that has never seen a rerelease despite how many people it would make happy. Nintendo’s 3DS arguably provides a perfect environment in which such an odd game could thrive, and creator Yoot Saito has not shot down the idea, perhaps going so far as to hint that it may happen. A fan asked Saito if aSeamanrevival was possible on the 3DS, and the developer answered that, although he couldn’t give specific details, the fan should “continue to hope” for the game....

In arecent interviewwith Wired,Silent Hill 5composer Akira Yamaoka revealed that there are no plans to release Konami’s horror sequel on the Nintendo Wii. Despite the potential for using waggle controls in the twisted world ofSilent Hill, Yamaoka explained that Wii users are not ‘hardcore’ enough and thus, I suppose, not suitable enough an audience. Yeesh. If you haven’t already seen it, here’s a look at Konami’s official box art forSilent Hill: Shattered Memories. There’s something unapologetically grim about that image, which might serve to make it my favoriteSilent Hillbox art ever. It pretty well manages to match the creepiness shown inthe latest trailer, and If the spooky vibe achieved by everything we’ve seen so far translates well into the final game, this one looks to be worth checking out....

The rumors we heardwere true — the next Tony Hawk title,Tony Hawk: SHRED, will feature both skateboarding and snowboarding, a first for the series. The confirmation comes from today’s financial call, where the publisher talked about its upcoming release for holiday 2011. The title, which uses the peripheral that shipped with last year’s critically pannedTony Hawk: RIDE, is said to feature tighter, update controls. Tony Hawk Shredwill be joined this holiday by a handful of other “proven” IPs —Call of Duty: Black Ops,DJ Hero 2,Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock,GoldenEye 007, andJames Bond: Blood Stone....

There’s always countless videos of skanky young girls doing seductive/awkward web cam dances in the upper ranks… not that I have a problem with that or anything. Now these skanky gals may make their way into your PS3 games, alongside videos of cute puppies, nifty dog tricks, and that weird girl that stares into the camera for a minute or two before waving good-bye (above)....

Oh, these crazy trademarks and all the speculation they cause! This time around, it’s a trademark from Sony from the title “Echoshift“. Of course, it seems likely that this may be a new entry in theEchochromeuniverse. We already knowEchochronois coming later this year, so I wonder what this might be? Perhaps it’s just a new name for the US release … or a new game altogether? I loveEchochrome, but it makes me feel dumb as a brick if I don’t play it when I’m feeling my sharpest....

Segahas the datesfor two long-awaited digital re-releases,Space Channel 5: Part 2andSega Bass Fishing. For PlayStation Network, it’s October 4th; the Xbox Live Arcade versions are coming a day later. Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed to the world its plans to release a peripheral for the 3DS that adds asecond analog nubto the handheld. The reactions to this news were generally mixed; the pervading opinions seemed to range from “It looks ugly but it might be cool” to “LOL 3DS Nintendo is doomed.” Nubageddon 2011 was officially a thing, spawning multiple animated GIFs and angry Internet videos. It seemed to me that this doom-and-gloom reaction may be in part due to the insular nature of videogame culture....

At Sony’s TGS press conference today Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono took the stage to tell us thatUltimate Marvel vs Capcom3 will be a Vita launch game in Japan. The same event set the system drop date as December 17. And this game isreadyready, as Ono says that it’s done, waiting for the system it plays on to hit market. The Vita version will be very much like the console version. Ono says that all of the contents of the PS3 title are installed....
