While up at BioWare’s headquarters in Edmonton, I had the opportunity to throw some questions at company co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. I was curious about how the duo felt about the current RPG landscape in general, and why we’re seeing more and more western-style RPGs while JRPGs have, at least among North American audiences, fallen somewhat to the wayside. “The fall of the JRPG in large part is due to a lack of evolution, a lack of progression,” Zeschuk said....

In 1938, Orson Welles narrated and directed a radio adaptation of H.G Wells’ classic sci-fi novel,The War of the Worlds. Using the book as the basis of a simulated news broadcast, Welles and his cast members detailed the invasion of Earth by a race of malevolent Martians. While much of what happened after is more suited for the subject of urban legends, there are still reports of panic and hysteria following the broadcast....

This reminds me of those places where you can get a “cheap gourmet” meal from chefs in training. Or a $4 haircut from barbers in training. The difference here is that this looks good! Capcom first-year employees made this new iPhone game calledPlanet Work. It’s spacemen cleaning up planets, and it is only an iPhone game, but that’s still really cool that only first-years worked on this. We’re talking mostly guys fresh out of college, just getting their feet wet at Capcom, says1UP....

It’s all been quiet on theCastle Crashersfront of late, but this adorably violent XBLA title has started to make some noise by way of anew blog. The Behemoth’s devblog is aiming to update weekly with the freshestCastle Crashersnews and build up even more hype for this anticipated title — hey, it worked forSmash Bros. The latest post offers up something quite astounding — in addition to the four playable knights that we have seen thus far, Castle Crashers will feature 22 unlockable characters....

TheTrackManiagames have easily been some of the most enjoyable arcade racers to come out in the last few years thanks to the seemingly limitless amount of customization they offer. With more than 3 million registeredTrackMania Nations Foreverplayers today, it’s plain to see that I’m not alone in thinking the series is superb. DeathSpankwas created over five years ago by Ron Gilbert and Clayton Kauzlaric as a way to poke fun at the videogame industry.
