One of the finer things in life is the taco. It’s mix of lettuce, cheese, meat of your choice, tomato, and toppings can please even the pickiest of eaters. Sony apparently gets that. This year, the guys atPlayStation.Blogare throwing a party for all of its readers and industry personalities at the King Taco in Los Angeles. It will begin on July 15 at 5 P.M. PST. Jeff Rubenstein, Social Media Manager at Sony will be at the event, and he really wants you to bring your PSP....

As a general rule, I don’t play racing sims. The learning curve is usually a little too steep for me to become adjusted to driving a realistically recreated, high-performance automobile using a tiny analog stick and buttons to replace a wheel and pedals. What usually winds up happening is a painful struggle to make it around the track in a good position, only to lose my lead to a stupid mistake and I give up...

The booth forTony Hawk: Ridesilently mocked Ashley Davis and myself for the first two days of E3. Forever surrounded by eager attendees at all times, it promised the most fully interactive gameplay experience short of breaking into the Microsoft offices and stealing Project Natal. Not being experienced skateboarders in real life, Davis and I were frightened, yet compelled. Attracted, yet repulsed. When we arrived in the West Hall on this final day of E3, however, the choice was clear: try playing a skateboarding game by standing on that hard little piece of plastic, or go home unfulfilled....

Keeping in the tradition of market over-saturation, Capcom is releasing anotherMega Man ZXtitle. The new ZX, in celebration of the Blue Bomber’s 20th anniversary, will be calledMega Man ZX: Advent. Unlike a certain other Mega Man titles coming out this year, I actually had some time to play this one. More PEW! after the jump. As if you really need any more information on yet another Mega Man title, right?...

At Nintendo’s E3 2011 press conference this morning, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime brought out a bunch of old Nintendo franchises that will be making their way to the 3DS, and chief among them isMario Kart. A trailer for the game, which Fils-Aime called “a tricked-out version [ofMario Kart] you haven’t driven before,” showed some new gameplay: underwater racing, with propeller-equipped karts; kart customization; and parasailing. you’re able to check out some screencaps of the press conference trailer in the gallery....

What about thatMass Effect 3eh? Lots of action was shown at E3, and not much story. It does look a lot tighter on the shooting side, although that was probably not what most of us play aMass Effectgame for. Still, it’sMass Effect 3so let’s hope this trilogy’s conclusion is a good one. No mention of Kinect in this E3 trailer (it’s a multiplatform game after all), but as someone who tends to read the subtitles and skips through most conversations in any RPG, I’m not really that excited about speaking lines out loud and then having Shepard say something completely different....

NeverDeadfollows a demon hunter named Bryce, cursed with immortality after he unsuccessfully tried to kill a demon king. You’re armed with two guns, a sword and your own freaking limbs can be used as weapons. Enemies can rip off your body parts and Bryce can pick them up to reattach them or swing them around. If you can’t get to your limbs, they will regenerate thanks to your immortal powers....

Excruciating Guitar Voyageis now available on the Xbox Live Indie Games service. It has lots and lots of levers, apparently. This very strange trailer for the game baffled me so much that I was compelled to post it simply so that I would have you lot to share my utter confusion with. The game is some sort of platformer, I think. But there’s a helicopter and a giant praying mantis and a lot of really weird stuff....

TheMedal of Honorseries was a pioneer in the FPS genre during the last two console generations. The franchise went on hiatus during this current console war, and IPs such as EA’s other war franchise (Battlefield) and Activision’sCall of Dutyseries stepped up to fill the voidMedal of Honorleft behind. The series is now back with a more modern setting, developed by both EA Los Angeles and EA DICE. DICE is working on the multiplayer with their Frostbite engine, and that side of the game is still being kept under wraps....

Rumors have beenflying every which wayaboutSplinter Cell Convictionlanding on the PS3. There have been enough slips here and there that many have pretty much assumed that it will happen at some point. It could be a safe bet consideringSplinter Cell‘s exclusivity history.
