Final Fantasy XIV pre-release trailer

God it’s pretty. Say what you will about what Square Enix has done to theFinal Fantasyfranchise — lord knows I could say plenty — but they know how to make something stunning that assaults the eyeballs. I’ll never play it. I might like to watch someone else play it for a couple of hours, take in the eyecandy, and then be able to sleep knowing that I’m not investing more of my life than that into the experience....

Game Debate to the Death! BioShock VS Fallout 3

Last weekwe began the Xbox 360 odd debate brackets and, well, let’s just say that one game is going into round three with a lot of confidence after reading these results: I expected some readers to respond harshly to the debate;Qrazecompared it to picking between a penis and a vagina, and then threatened to “wrath” me. The scare tactics were as effective as they were hilarious, but I was glad that most of the comments took the debate seriously, without letting things turn into Jonathan Ross’snext article....

Gardening Mama bends over in America Spring 2009

Aninnuendo-packed postfrom earlier this year told you aboutGardening Mama, the next in the series of Taito’sMamagames. GDC 10: Grabbing a bomb in Star Wars: The Old Republic

How do you evaluate an MMO when you’ve only had an hour with it? I believe the simple answer is that you may’t. In San Francisco earlier this week I was shuttled to LucasArts HQ, a campus tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown in some of the city’s fabled rolling hills. I was escorted beyond a line of cubicles, quaint little office homes where game creators are sculpting one of the studio’s next big releases....

Chatting with PC Gamer at GDC,Introversion Software‘s Mark Morris admitted that the independent studio likely won’t work with Microsoft on another Xbox Live Arcade title in the foreseeable future. “Do we regret working with Microsoft? No, but it’s unlikely we’ll work with them again … they make you work harder on the production value, but they don’t back it up with sales,” Morris puts it bluntly. In the case ofDarwiniaandMultiwinia, he says that “XBLA were good to us and put us in the deal of the week, but it had no impact....
