If you know me, you know that I love me some karaoke. I also ownLips, but admittedly haven’t played it since some time last year. But they keep pumping out downloadable content for it, so someonemustbe playing it. Right? That’s why Microsoft is putting out consistent DLC forLips, which continues this month with tracks from Keane (“Somewhere Only We Know” and “Spiralling”) and Vanilla Ice (“Ice Ice Baby”). Wait, did I just say that you could sing “Ice Ice Baby” inLips?...

I’ve always wondered why Sony — with its massive media holdings in the film and music industries (i.e.,Sony Pictures EntertainmentandSony BMG) — hasn’t yet brought that content to the PlayStation Network. After all, Microsoft has a wide variety of downloadable media available on Xbox Live Marketplace, and such a service on the PSN would almost certainly be a cash cow for Sony. Well, I will have to wonder no longer — at least on the movie side....

Every single entry in theMetal Gear Solidseries (barring the first) has been Hideo Kojima’s “last”MGS. He claims he’ll step away from the series every time but it seems like a compulsion for him — like kleptomania, only with longer cutscenes. He’s hoping that someone in Kojima Productions will have a better idea than him so he doesn’t have to work onMGS5....

Air combat simulator junkies get pumped: Konami has announced the World War II air battle title,Birds of Steel. The game will feature 20 history lesson missions, including the famous battle of Midway, along with a number of fictitious scenarios. Over 100 planes have been “faithfully recreated in terms of handling, capabilities and weaponry,” which means you’ll have to be a pro pilot to play, right? In addition to the offline game modes, you’ll be able to hop online for cooperative gameplay with your friends, or engage in dogfights in versus modes....

As is custom these days, Rockstar’sLA Noirewill be offering avariety of pre-order incentivesat different retailers. It seems that GameStop is the only place worth buying from, however, since it comes with a full downloadable story —The Naked City. Rockstar has released a trailer for this unique mission, in which players must investigate the alleged suicide of a fashion model. Looks pretty groovy, and slightly more interesting than the downloadable costumes being offered elsewhere....

It’s not clear if Level5 (Dark Cloudseries,Rogue Galaxy, Dragon Quest remakes,White Knight Story,Jeanne d’Arc)will becomethe next Square Enixyet, but one thing’s for sure: they’re working in high style. The Japanese Level5 Web page features a “Company Navigator,” which is basically a slideshow of the Level5 offices. I’ve seen some pretty amazing offices in my day, but Level5’s choice of high style decor with otaku-ish accents really hits home. I know that the forthcoming Destructoid Tower and Housing Complex will eventually make all other offices pale in comparison, but we have a bit of a wait for that....

Having not delved too deeply into most of the games in the series, I’m quickly discovering that there’s far more plot there than I can fit in my tiny human brain.
